I have a ticket to here, and then am getting on Korean air to Japan. Because they are on separate tickets would I go to arrivals or transfers when I get off? Because I know I'd need to get my suitcase and check in.

How long does it take to get out of the airport? I need to schedule a train to Busan after so I wanted to know how many minutes do I need to buffer to get to the KTX. I appreciate your input.

Depends on how busy is Immigration...last time we were out in 30 mins and sometimes took almost 1.5 to 2 hours (before COVID). Guess 2 to 3 hrs will be safe buffer...but can't confirm.

So, just to be clear you first followed the signs to baggage claim but you actually went to immigration first then you go get your bags?

That is correct...once you are out of the plane...the baggage claim sign will take you first to immigration and then to baggage claim. This is only applicable for international arrivals (not domestic flights). Happy Travels!
