The Kartarpur Corridor was inaugurated on November 9, 2019, allowing Sikh devotees from India to visit the Gurdwara in Pakistan without requiring a visa. This was a historic moment that facilitated the reunion of families and siblings who had been separated by the India-Pakistan border. The corridor not only serves as a physical pathway but also symbolizes a gesture of goodwill and cooperation between the two countries.
akina Bibi is a resident of Sheikhupura, Pakistan. At the time of partition in 1947, Sakina's mother lived in Noorpur village of Ludhiana. Mother's name was Karmate Bibi. abducted Sakina's father and the rest of the family came to Pakistan after many years when the governments of both sides reached an agreement that the missing people who remained would be returned to each other, then my father was also taken with the police. And it was found out that my mother is in the village of Jasuwal, when they went to the village, my mother was married in a Sikh family, so the police took my mother with them and when they started returning from there, my mother started shouting that my son Gurmeel had gone out. They wanted to take her along but the police did not hear anything and brought the mother to Pakistan without my brother. Two years later Sakina came to Pakistan and was born. Cheet continued, then two years later, my mother also died, when Sakina grew up, then her father told the whole story, Sakina kept the picture of her brother and the letter that was written in 1961. After telling them that during the partition time, Sakina Bibi contacted our team, after a few days we recorded Sakina BB and uploaded it on the video channel. The search for the brother started, there was a name and an address in those letters, while searching for Jaswal, it was found that there are many villages of this name in Ludhiana.
Then after a few days of hard work and with the help of friends in the area, Sakina's brother Gurmail Singh was found, then they both talked through video calls and now the day came when the two siblings, blood relations, met for the first time. Even today people like Gurmail Singh and Sakina are longing to meet each other on both sides of the border. And will they allow these longing people to meet each other?
