The worst I expected happened.. Neester, just so you know you skipped the Sepbox lore documents for Embers (V6) and Underworld (V7) which is why a lot of things are confusing for you. And for the record, the lore is a lot different from most mods, trust me.

I think the main reason why you don't find the lore that interesting, is because you haven't seen the lore for versions 6 and 7. If you piece all of the lore together, you actually get a pretty unique and enjoyable story that spans across all 8 versions. Reading this lore without seeing the previous ones can make it pretty confusing.

But, Neester, I love your content and stuff, but the whole sepbox lore is much more than this, V8 is cool because we know the characters. Not all versions had a lore, but aftermath (partially), embers, underworld and black out have. A quick summary in chronological order would be: Dr.Arler Masswenth is like the main antagonist, he made the Watcher, the Eradicator and the Hivemind/Fakers in general. Embers covers what was happening during the war of embers and also some things that happened because of the Depths places. Return it's about the people returning from the war and stuff. Steel Factory covers what was that place, at least before Aqua. Depths show us the depths and presents more characters, especially abyssal ones. Aftermath is about the same containment as 8V. Aqua is what happened in Steel Factory after Turchip, a robot that got alive from previous events, flooded the Steel Factory. Underworld is the contact that the main characters had with the abyssals and also the some results of Eradicator Attack. And then, Lights Out. Just like Embers, all basically everyone is from older versions, which makes some informations from here more important. Also, the sepbox lore was planned way before any orin ayo or something be ever done, soo they the fakers were an old concept (from the phone in Depths), but just now, they were more explained.

Who's gonna tell Neester that Sepbox has lore that starts form v6 all the way to now? It is NOT just the orin ayo setup. Also you started reading the lore from V8 so you have almost NO context to what the hell is even going on so I think it's really unfair to critisize it when you barely have even 1/4 of the actual lore. I do get your point about mods having the same lore setup but sepbox is very different imo. So please at least get the full picture before coming to a conclusion.

I get what Neester means regarding lore. Alot of incredibox lore is mostly "Some bad thing happened to these people, so now they are like this". Its like the creepypasta phase of the 2010s. Oryn Ayo was praised because it was one of the first well done mods to do it, but now its become a bit oversaturated. Tbh alot of mods that have lore tend to just be a "spooky" mod. It'd honestly be cool to see some mods with lore that doesn't involve half the cast being killed/corrupted in some way.

To be fair, I feel like its kind of hard to make a good story thats coherent and not a slog to get through in incerdibox. Incredibox is more based around music than it was story so you kind of have to go out of your way to add a story, its easy if you make something going on like an incident so there's something going on and its not just "this is Rob, he works here." Unless you want to try and o what corruptbox did and pretty much write a novel or make 9 versions like colorbox has (sepbox has a lot too but i feel like they really only started the lore we have now in embers), or you do what dystopia did with its bonuses but that requires a lot of extra work and it can be hard to communicate whats going on in a few short animations

I wonder if someone will make a horror mod like this: there is someone who goes insane and laughs forever and whoever gets close makes them go insane and do the same thing, further making people insane
