Long story short: Hojo (and Jenova by extension) is all to blame Sephiroth downfall and the state of the FF7 universe.

20 years Ago i read an article in a Video game magazin. It was a Ranking of the best villans in games. Sephiroth was nr 2. So important still today

Honestly no other villains in this franchise has catch my attention more then, Sephiroth. Has. He’s speak of evil in so many ways, Chilling and Exciting.

Sephiroth is actually one of those villains that I think could carry his own game in this universe, if they were willing to give him a redemption arc. That being said, I'm hesitant to support the idea, because it'll become oversaturated with content.

Wow. Great recap. You covered all the stuff most people skip over. There is still a strict adherence to the FF7 OG storyline when people analyze Sephiroth’s on KZfaq in particular, which is fine, but the devs and writers have clearly wanted us to learn more about us and gave us Crisis Core and Ever Crisis. Sephiroth’s story with Glenn Lodbrok and his friends, Genesis and Angeal are very important contextual additions to his downfall.

The odd thing is how Sephiroth still continued a path of destruction despite all of the time he had spent in the lifestream. He should have learned Jenova was not an ancient or even his biological mother, the main reason for his breakdown, and yet he still goes on his path of conquest. Makes the whole idea of Jenova warping his mind more plausible despite sources claiming he managed to take cellular control from the parasite.

Him taking control of Jenova doesn’t rule out her warping his mind or even gaining control over him at some points, it just means ultimately he was in control of the Jenovaroth body rather than that being Jenova mimicking Sephiroth and he maintained that control most of the time. I think there’s strong evidence Jenova did warp his mind and during the Nibelheim incident possibly even controlled him while he was fatigued. As for continuing the conquest keep in mind Sephiroth was cut in half during the Nibelheim incident, his two options were either become a god and reconstruct his body through the reunion or accept death and die. Sephiroth really wants to avoid dying.

So, in FF7:R ... [Spoilers] . . . Sephiroth manifested himself, by will, to go back in time and just fuck around with the timeline? Thus resulting in FF7: Rebirth having two different ones.

Yeah I kinda think FF7R actually comes after Advent Children and is Cloud reliving his memories of FF7. Sephiroth being like “fine, if I’m stuck in your memories I’m making your memories mine.”

Sephiroth loses totally his mind and his control on himself...in such condition,is it reasonable to think that he can have the control on a powerful being such as Jenova,who,2000 years before was able to almost destroy a strong race such as the Cetra???In Advent Children Réunion Files,in an interview,Director Nojima revealed that in the movie,when they came to justify the return of Sephiroth,they all came to the conclusion that it was not Sephiroth's Will but Jenova's Will, which means that,if he wanted or not, Jenova forced some of his aspect out of Lifestream,by her own decision.This means that Jenova Is the One Who leads and decides.Kadaj is not an other person,he is the main aspect of Sephiroth,his "core" as Vincent Valentine explains...so,in the end,when he finally gives up to fight and accept the end,Aerith can help him to reach the lifestream free from the grasp of Jenova.

Didnt Hojo inject Jenova Cells into a lady Vincent Valatime liked called Lucrecia and hojo had a son with her who was Sepiroth and told Sepiroth that the lady name was Jenova not Lucrecia, with a picture of Lucrecia. But finding out his mother "was " Jenova he had a breakdown? I dont get it it seems a bit of weird writing to me

Hojo didn't want him to know about his parents. He want him to believe that he has no family and only Shin-ra is his family. It's good writing and shows how messed up Hojo and Shin-ra is
