All gift cards are subject to scams! I just don’t use them anymore. I don’t give them at all.

That totally sucks! If i gifted someone a gift card and they couldn’t use it because it was empty i absolutely would want to know. Because you want the person to enjoy it. I also had some one t try to charge my credit card for a 500 usd gift card at urban outfitters a few years back which was so random lol

Never had this happen to me, to my knowledge. Like you, I now wonder about the holiday gift cards I have given to others... I know they would never have told me if the cards didn't work.

It bothers me it so much because I know I would never tell anyone that their gift to me didn't work, so others are probably the same way. Might be happening more than we think.

I wouldn’t necessarily assume that Sephora incident to be an inside job. Anyone could have went into that store and purchased a gift card before that person did. It would not be difficult for them to guess the sequence of numbers on all the other cards after that.

When my mom was sick with cancer was right about the time Pokemon Go was released so when I would spend time with her that hospice I'd play when she was resting. It became a great stress relief and something to take my mind off of everything else going on, and it still is.
