Hi Grace. Thank you for sharing your faves as well as products you wouldn’t recommend. I picked up the Ilia liquid powder eyeshadow tint and it did not work for me at all. I was disappointed since it won an Allure Beauty award so I had high hopes. It was very patchy, creased, and didn’t blend well at all. On a happier note, I finally picked up a few of the Bobbi Brown long-wear cream eyeshadow sticks and they’re amazing! They don’t cause any eye irritation and they blend like a dream! So easy to apply and very pigmented as well. Love Nude Beach and Golden Bronze shades.

I agree with you. Guerlain's eyeshadow was hard to pick up, and it wasn't pigmented.

Thank you Grace! Like you, about the hourglass face palettes, I have one and never use. I know it’s beautiful but for some reason, I just don’t reach for it. 😢. They are not cheap either 😊

Interesting. I started using complexion enhancing products in my early 40ies (I have a pale complexion) and the Hourglass Ghost edition palette was my very first product - I literally used it every day for several years (it didn't go bad and I hit pan). So I got every penny's worth out of it. Needless to say, I was very excited to get the limited edition palette that was released at the end of last year and I've been using it ever since. I don't like eye shadow palettes, they feel overwhelming for me, but a good comprehensive Hourglass face palette - that's a must have for me.

Thank you! I also highly recommend the Gucci bronzer and their Glow & Care Shine lipsticks, as well as the Valentino foundation! Those are my everyday holy grails, absolutely love :) I also just tried the new Freck Beauty lip liners that are available at Sephora online, and they are super long lasting! Very unique formula, not creamy at all but glides on easily and also doesn’t dry out your lips

I usually replenish what I use regularly or something I have wanted to try. I will probably get another Valentino blush, maybe try a PT cream/powder blush, and maybe another Guerlain bronzer. I'm Rouge this year (hair dryer purchase), but so far only picked up shampoo, brow gel and magnesium drink powders. Lots of face products I would like, but I have shelf life winding down on many things I own, so I need to focus on using things up. Like, I have the Hourglass Ambient, and I don't like it, too deep for my skin. BUT I have a plan to focus on using it in summer only, and really focus on it for just 3 months. And then do it again next year. Been helping me lately to "get use out of" things I don't like, to partition a short time period, as a goal I can meet, rather than "fail" to use up something. I don't like the WA foundation stick, it has kaolin like the Cle de Peau concealer, imagine that all over the face. So, I use the stick as spot concealing.

Grace, you're so lucky having so many extra brands at Sephora than we do in Australia. I had to buy all of my Prada items, which I absolutely adore, from Selfridges, as well as Valentino too. WA is another we don't have either, but at another stockist. The first two brands haven't arrived in Australia as far as I'm aware. There is definitely a way to use those Prada Eye Palettes, yet you need to like that pop of colour for it to be successful. I apply the coloured shade across my mobile lid, the satin throughout the crease area, the deepest colour in the outer edge and the metallic in the inner corner of the eye which I bring up slightly onto part of the colour. I've done this with every palette and they all work beautifully. I haven't tried the Hyper-Matte Lipsticks yet, but I do have a good collection of the regular mattes which I love! I haven't been reaching for my Dior Quints much either. I'm more interested in their Backstage Eye Palettes instead. Dior has just reformulated their Quints, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for them to change anytime soon. Another Eye Shadow that I was impressed with from last year was Rabanne. I own all but one duo and each Quad is stunning too. With the way that eye-shadows are progressing, Dior may just be left behind. They do look great on when I use them, but I seem to grab for other brands first. Our Sephora Sale has just started for us highest tier customers, yet the only product I wanted - the Burberry Dusty Caramel Quad is out of stock. I can only purchase online due to living so far away from any store and they aren't big on re-stocking their online store. I suppose I get to save some money for the new exorbitantly priced Byredo Mineralscape 18-pan Eye Palette that has skyrocketed in price. @@EverydayEdit I was watching some eye-shadow videos last night and thought that it wouldn't be too hard to make a look yourself and see how it goes, with your own shadows. This was before I even discovered your comment before, the idea just popped into my head. It won't be the same formula, but at least you can see whether the shades would be wearable for you. I'm sure that with all the palettes you have, that you'd be able to put together a colour story like one from Prada that interests you? The Prada Quad with the chartreuse shade is a very nice one when the look is finished. The chartreuse looks more gold when it comes in contact with the silvery shade. I saw a purple shadow being swatched in a video and it reminded me of the purple from the Prada Quad. It's just an idea that may be worth trying out before spending money on palettes that won't necessarily interest you totally. Although, you can still use the other shades, yet it seems a waste if you can't use all of them. One of the videos I watched last night was the one where you use the Black/Grey Byredo Quint, which I also have. That was some look!! I remember your video where you delved into the Byredo Flora Kalahari Palette and you weren't being shy about using those shades! I must say that I did surprise myself with my choices, not thinking that the ones with the blue nor pink would suit me. As I was buying from the other side of the globe at Selfridges, I simply leapt in and bought them all. The pink turned out to be a favourite, it looked that good when pulled together. Wishing you luck in whatever direction you take. Have you bought the Byredo Mineralscape Eye Palette? Mine arrived yesterday afternoon and it is so beautiful. I don't see you having any issues with the shades in that palette. They are quite muted mostly, with only the teal and deep royal blue more bold. I know how much you liked Metal Boots In The Snow and there are lovely green shades like that too. The best video I've seen of this palette is from Alicia Archer which she put up today with six different looks. If you decide to purchase, before you swatch or use, shine a torch over the shades and watch them sparkle at you like diamonds! My back was playing up more than usual yesterday and I had a day in bed which is why I used the torch and hadn't applied. It's more subtle than Flora Kalahari and I truly believe it would definitely suit you.💖

I actually have both of those Valentino blushes and I like number four better on my skin tone I like number nine for more subdued fall look but for spring summer definitely number four I also have number two which I love too!! So so sorry you didn’t like the Prada foundation. It’s been one of my favorite latest discoveries . I also have the Gucci brow pencil and ❤ it!!

❤️ I used to wear it a lot, but now if I do I’ll use the darkest shade of a powder palette and just lightly stamp it along the lash line. If you haven’t tried eyeshadow as liner I wonder if that might help?

I also agree that I never use the hourglass palettes. Surprisingly, Hermes has been my favorite makeup brand right now. Really natural and no minty lip products! lol

I personally love the Gucci eyeshadow palette and think that if you’re interested now would be the time to get it since it’s on sale. I wish I got it on sale but I don’t regret buying it at full price. I also find the quality of the Prada collection to be excellent. The shadows, lipstick and foundation are really good. I’ve also gone through 2 large hourglass palettes but you have to like all the products in the palette to make it worth it.
