I just found your video. used to take this train every day to work. We have newer ones but I like these the best because they are so quiet inside. The newer ones are a loud mess. Thanks for making and posting this video!

I hope someday the MARC can be connected up to the SEPTA and I can effectively go to New York from Baltimore on my own for a low cost.

Only if the MD governor would allow it and the NIBMYS at Perryville allow the building of a rail yard. They should connect it to Wilmington Station

@@DeltaFish11 , supposedly an idea is being floated that extends the MARC Penn line all the way to Wilmington, Delaware so riders could catch both SEPTA and Amtrak trains.

@@chrishowell4845 Like Delta stated, it was on the table just last year but Governor Hogan vetoed the proposal. Expense-wise, probably had to do with the pandemic, but if brought back around again, it may get passed. Though, I assume MDOT would want Delaware to pay for the connection even though it'd be successful anyway

These are all the station stops on the NJ Transit Northeast Corridor line. The NEC line for nj transit is one of my top favorite besides the Atlantic city rail line from philadelphia to Atlantic city. I rely on both those transit train lines

ill never understand commuter rail even if I do take it. it takes a Regional train 1hr to travel the same distance an Amtrak train can do in 1/2 the time.

Regional trains are local trains, they make more stops. The Amtrak is express and only has a couple stops in each state. Although Amtrak is more expensive.

@@matthewhernandez8342Hell the stations on the Wilmington Line are so close to each other you can see them from each other. Like why have a train station ever 1/4 mile?

**1/2 mile. The closest two stations together on that line are Norwood and Prospect Park and they are a half mile apart. The ridership is pretty reasonable on both stations, which kinda justifies the usage of both. During peak hours, express trains skip these stations which improve travel times, but during off peak the ridership is too low to demand faster trains, but too high to skip stations on the locals. (on the Trenton line, one station is only served during peak hours which is ironic)

hi ... as i am interested in travelling to 30th street station to philly... as i am interested in seeing rocky steps...so i think that we have to change train from trenton station... whats the cost of ticket from TRENTON TO 30TH STREET STATION.... and if u have any idea ...minimum cost of uber taxi ...

You can see the current SEPTA fares on their website at septa.org. Uber to go from SEPTA to the Rocky Steps will run between 8 and 35 dollars depending on of there's surge pricing, and what kind of Uber you get. You can transfer to the SEPTA trolley (across the street) and ride to 22nd Street and walk to the museum. That will cost $2.60 each way.

it looks like the whole area is an light industrial GHETTO. Its not slums, but it does look like a poor industrial district. the poor side of town. I see no improvement since the time I used to live in that area. Compare that area to the train ride from DC to Wiehle ave, in Reston Virginia area....10-4?

The tinted glass and dreary weather doesn't help much. The area just along the tracks has always been a bit blighted

you have to remember it was built by a Railroad. Railroads make made more money on pulling freight then passengers. that's why there is so much industrial sites along the tracks. the more business PRR had, the more money it made. Something had to pay for the losses on the commuter lines. Even today the commuter lines barely make enough to pay their expenses. Rail travel as a whole in the US is a dead art form. Its not like it is in the UK where 350 million passengers take the trains. St Pancreas Station sees more people in a year then Amtrak handles in 4.

@ Kevin, Britains ticket prices are very expensive. In Philly, Septa loses a lot of money on the commuter lines (and everything else that they touch) . They get automobile fuel tax, as well as many other handouts. The roads are falling apart, the people pay their fuel tax to fix the roads . The gov't takes the money and subsidizes other people's commutes. What's wrong with the users paying the costs?

Imo the better Philly suburbs are along the Thorndale line west of the city
