10 ай бұрынOur organ recital series features some of the finest organists playing one of America’s great organs. Grace Cathedral’s 7,466-pipe Aeolian-Skinner instrument, the Charles B. Alexander Memorial Organ (1934), is one of the first and finest American classic-style organs and is among the largest church organs in the West. Experiencing music in our gothic cathedral with its unique acoustics, soaring nave, and jewel-like stained glass windows is a feast for the ears, eyes, and soul.

Such a remarkable performance of the Willian! Your utilization of the colors and resources of that particular instrument, as well as your interpretation of the literature, was truly outstanding! Well done Nicholas!

Former 70’s Purvis student here … Really seriously well done all around, but I especially “approve” of your take on the Willan. Thanks for doing these everyone The old girl sounds fantastic as always

Very well done on the Willan. However the organ has undergone perceptible change since I heard it played by Richard Purvis some 40 or so years ago. I liked it better then.
