sequencedanceuk.com Shannah and Phil dance through the popular Bossa Nova 66 to music. Please see our website or youtube channel for a slightly slowed version to music. This routine was arranged as a fun mixer party dance by Frank and Peggy Spencer in 1966.

The German version of this is called 'Schuld war nur der bossa nova' it sounds the name but the text is german

It is a 16 bar arrangement that all couples dance around the room starting and finishing at the same time :) A 'sequence dance' x

There is no "dance" called the Bossa Nova but there has been many interpretations with the few notions that are the Bossa Nova. This happens to be the more mundane of the many. Sorry to say.

We think that you need to research your facts before making unfounded comments about Dance. The Oxford English Dictionary defines The Bossa Nova as A Style of Brazilian music derived from Samba. AND A Dance to this music. So it appears their IS a "Dance" Called The Bossa Nova. ( No apology needed)

@@danceforfun5394 the truth is exempt fro "Nice" . People must at least be exposed to the truth. and dude, this a pretty lame attempt at crating a bossa nova dance.

@@danceforfun5394 no, that is quite an assumption, that there is a dance called bossa nova. SAMBA has nothing, zero, nada to do with partner dancing. and the OED is wrong - Read the story about the actual creator of what came to be called bossa nova: Joao Gilberto. He wanted to blend American jazz, Cuban salsa and Brazilian samba.
