Serato DJ - New Serato DJ Pro Clean Echo Out

Serato included a new majorly requested new effect with the release of Serato DJ Pro. They added what they are calling the "Clean Echo Out", and it definitely sounds different than the previous options. Check out this comparison on the four different echo out options as well as my thoughts on each one!

Thanks!!!! Notice the uptick in volume when activated but is light years better!!! SL Echo Out was BOMB....

Yeah the SL echo out is still my fave but at least this is a better option

I like that echo out, you can lower the volume a little and hit cue if you want,and that jump in volume to be gone I know it is one more step but you get use to it like that

Yeap echo out was my go too. But after seeing this clean echo out will be my choice. Now to go try it out.

Hi @PDotTV My echo out isnt behaving how it used to behave when i got my ddjsr2. I used to be able to hit the echo out fx button and a track would echo out at a desired point, but now in order for it to echo out like it used to I have to use the volume fader or else it basically just repeats...how do i fix this?

Combo Echo Out can be adjusted for a longer fade tail but...I am only using the Clean Echo Out now. It's much cleaner & you can use it as a regular echo also.

I prefer the regular SDJ echo out. It's supposed to sound like an analog or tape style delay. The old SL echo out and new clean echo are more like traditional digital delays. I think the distortion gives the echo out more of a dub reggae character.

That is the only new effect that was added to Serato DJ Pro, but at least its a free addition!

I recently transitioned from Traktor to Serato and I love it so far. The one issue I come across sometimes is when I trigger an effect in Serato DJ Pro, like the Clean Echo Out, for example, the effect doesn't work and it all I get is a little reverb that kills the transition. Sometimes switching from chained to single FX has solved the problem, but during a gig last night, the issue cropped up again and I couldn't sort it out, so I had to do without. How can I solve this problem?

Taktor is way better. I always converted and regret it. Serato feels like 1889

I doubt you still check this, but have you noticed in 2.3.2 they completely broke the way the bpm affects the echo? Doesn’t matter which echo I use, and I’m losing my mind

Great video! Where is the Clean Echo Out Effect? I have the latest version of Serato DJ Pro using a Pioneer DDJ-SR2. Do I need to download and FX Pack? Peace.

La'Tasha D. Mayes Yes need to download it. When you log into your serato account try check expansion pack and download the "wolf pack" I think it's called (for free) if your hardware is a serato DJ pro enabled. Then on your effects drop down menu you will see clean echo out and the rest of them.

Can you help , got the traktor Z2 running Serato DJ , how can get my echo to still have the effect when I bring down my volume or when moving the cross fader instead of just cutting out

That is what is called "post-fader effects" and unfortunately not possible with Serato DJ and the Z2.

echo out is better with 1 beat....but it s not near to delay freeze of Traktor DJ

I think it really depends on the situation. Sometimes 1 beat can be too long for some mixes.

It's pretty good, and especially good when you are using it with a piece of hardware with post fader effects like a controller or a Serato enabled mixer.

I'm not seeing the Clean Echo Out anywhere in my Serato DJ Pro. I have version 2.0.3 which should be the newest and all it shows is echo and version echo. Do I need an expansion pack for this?

Any other DJs have issues with the Serato FX not triggering right the first time you trigger it? It almost always craps out on me the first time. Pretty lame.

Absolutely... i tend to activate an effect at the very beginning of the night to prevent having this happening in the middle of my set. But sometimes I forget to and it indeed sucks.

Check in the options that you have that effect activated in the effects tab.

just changed to pro analysed 60 tunes... bpm shows in library list but not on virt deck any ideas please

I would check to make sure than none of the songs are "locked" in the Serato library

Yes, if you look in the library window right by each song on the left side you might see a lock icon, this prevents the songs metadata from being edited. Unlock the songs by ctrl+click on the icon and try to analyze the track again.

It definitely does, but the overall sound quality even with extra controls might not be the sound that a lot of DJs are looking for.

Congratulations serato Dj pro!!!! You now have all the capabilities of virtual dj pro 7!!!!! Except the ability to eq in “practice mode” aka...... virtual Dj without a controller or tables hooked up!!!! Lol this is a joke!!!! I still use both programs but I only use serato in clubs because it’s the “standard” smh other than that vdj does my private gigs and is my preference 🤷🏽‍♂️ just my 2 cents!!! Love all the reviews tho bro!!!!

PDotTV it's not stable and the effects sound all the same. Not no mention the layout looks like a pizza to me, serato was designed for turntables and that's it

Although for effects like echo and reverb having then post fader would be best, this is still good in a pinch.

True. It depends what mixer you're using whether Serato allows it's fx to be post-fader. Unfortunately djm900nxs2 with Serato Club Kit doesn't allow for post fader fx. That was a disappointing surprise for me.
