For those who (perhaps) don't know, the ramonda is our endemic flower species (Ramonda Serbica) and a symbol of the suffering of the Serbs in World War I against Austria-Hungary, i.e. Armistice Day (November 11, 1918) and the final victory. Ramonda is a symbol of Serbia, victory, rebirth and eternity. It is also called the phoenix flower, because it is specific in that it can dry up, and only one drop of water is enough to revive it completely. It was discovered by Josif Pancic in 1874, on Mount Rtanj, near Sokobanja. The song of Teye Dora has strong symbolism, good music with traditional (Byzantine and Serbian) elements, arrangement and text, and in the text I especially like the (Serbian) motifs of the star Danica and Ramonda, as well as the beginning, whose rhythmicity and parallelism are very they remind us of our folk (oral) literature. Not to mention her voice. PS. Armistice Day is a non-working day in Serbia, and it is also celebrated in Great Britain, Belgium, New Zealand and France, while it is "Remembrance Day" in the countries of the British Commonwealth, and "Veterans Day" in the USA.

Serbia is a country that is always underated at eurovision evan tho they have amasing songs every year. To what has already been said, it's an ode to the serbian people and soldiers died in ww1. Serbia lost 1/3 of its population. The whole army (meaning the most of men population) at one point went to withdrew through albanian mountains to the Island of corfus during winter. Many died on the road. Many were burried in the sea at the arrival, which is known as the Blue tomb. Greek fisherman don't catch fish there out of respect for the dead. That's why you see in the clip the sea and teya dora is on a rock. She sings "this is the road for the wounded' and "everyone is silent under the sea". "I scream but no one can hear me"... Then, the flower is the symbol of ww1 for serbia, as a unique flower which can revive with a drop of.water even when it's dried and dead. There is always hope. Even in the worst of times. It s also a universal anti war message. And personal mesage for anyone going through tough times. Hope never dies. Like Lilac Ramonda. The song is a masterpiece. Thank you for your reaction!

In WW1 1/3 of the population was murdered by Bulgarian, German and Austrian army...and they didn't announce a capitulation but the nation, led by the king went in an exile via hostile Albanian mountains. After all the suffering between 1914-1918, they returned back victorious and liberated all southern Slavic nations (Serbs, Croats, Slovenians, Macedonians) and created a South Slavic land (Yugoslavia).
