This performance is art at it's purest. Although the lyrics may seem a bit silly at first, they are actually dead serious. There are so many layers to the song, and a lot of space for different interpretations. Konatrakta herself emphasized the importance of every listener's own interpretation. 1. The song opens with a headline from a beauty magazine that Konstrakta once saw: What is the secret to Meghan Markle's healthy hair? - This is a reference to modern society's obsession with beauty; That's what beauty magazines do - they create insecurities about your hair, skin, nails, weight etc. and then advertise products that promise to change that. That's what the second line of the song is about "I think that the secret is in deep hydration" 2.Then Konstrakta goes on talking about how our skin and hair often signal some inner health issues - for example liver and spleen problems - The reason she is thinking this is beacause she's worrying about her own health, she can't visit a doctor for a check up or get treatment because she doesn't have insurance. THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT because artists in Serbia still don't have health insurance. This is a paradox because Serbia, just like so many other countries has "universal healthcare" which in reality is not available to everyone. 3. She then goes on saying how and artist must be healthy - a reference to Marina Abramovic (Art is beautiful, Artist must be beautiful), and the reason she needs to be healthty is again - because she can't afford to get treatment. 4. Then comes the part about the autonomic nervous system and how we don't need to control our own heartbeats. She describes a beautiful summer day, she is waking her dog, her heart is beating and that's it - it doesn't need to get any better. She just puts her trust in her heart and lungs hoping they won't fail her (if they do fail her then that's it, the doctors won't help her and she made peace with that) 5. She then explicitly states I DON'T HAVE THE CARD (meaning health insurance card) 6. She wonders how will they help her then? While she's wondering that we can hear the backing vocals repeat the phrase Boze zdravlja - God grant us health. This is a reference to serbian culture where health is regarded as the most important part of life. God grant us health is a common saying, we use it all the time, and you will always hear people wishing other people good health (for their birthday, or really any holiday) because everything else (money, fame, love...) becomes meaningless if you are ill and in pain. This is again a paradox - in a society that nominally regards health as sacred she still doesn't have health insurance. She says - The (female) artist is invisible, you can't see me, it's magic. 7. The final part is probably the most important one. It's basically a play on the old latin saying Mens sana in corpore sano (A healthy mind in a healthy body), exept that Konstrakta makes it clear that only the body is healthy - the soul inside is desperate which is a commentary on our own reality, we are all obsessed with improving our health - we try to eat better, be more active, take all those expensive drugs and supplements - but what about our mind? More often than not it is our mind that needs care, not the body. And finally after making that clear she asks us - So what do we do now? Now about the handwashing: She is dressed in white, she symbolizes the health care system (she reminds us of a nurse for example) and she is washing her hands. Why? Because of covid? NO! It is a metaphor about how health care workers need to "wash their hands" meaning clear their conscience when they refuse to treat you because you don't have insurance. Just like when Pontius Pilate washed his hands before the crucifixon of Jesus - he tried to clear his conscience and make it clear that he wasn't the one who killed Jesus - it was the Law. In the same way, a doctor refuses to treat you because of the law, and he needs to make peace with the fact that you may die even though he/her could (and would) help you. The handwashing could also be seen as a reference to Marina Abramovic's performance Balkan Baroque in which she spent days trying to wash the blood and flesh off of cow bones - she failed of course and that was the point - no matter how hard you try they will still be bloody bones (in this context the blood on the bones symbolized the shame of the Yugoslav wars, and in Konatrakta's performance the health care system is trying to wash away it's responsibility for people literally dying because of some bullshit paperwork and administration - but it is of course doomed to fail because the shame and blood cannot be washed away). Unfortunatly I'm not a native english speaker so I couldn's atriculate my thoughts in english better but I tried my best! I hope this comment helped make thing a bit more clear!

For anyone interested here’s an explanation of the song: 1)The name of the song in corpore sano is in latin and it’s short from the latin saying "Mens sana in corpore sano" meaning "A healthy mind in a healthy body" 2)”What's the secret behind Meghan Markles healhy hair?” part refers to mainstream media constantly bombing us with different health tips that are usually there just to promote products and/or make us more insecure. 3)The part saying that an enlarged spleen isn't pretty refers to people making assumptions about someone's health just based on their looks and emphasizing physical health while a person can look really good but have many mental health issues no one knows about. 4)Artists in Serbia aren't recognized as workers by law so they don't get free health insurance meaning they have to pay to be treated in private clinics which a lot of them can't afford including Konstrakta's former band member which died of leukemia cause he couldn't afford treatment.The first and second chorus are different.The first one says "An artist MUST be healthy" referring to international artists that get free healthcare, while the second one says "An artist CAN be healthy" referring to artists in serbia and the healthcare system not caring about their well-being. 5)The part where she prays to god for health and says she puts her trust in her heart beating refers to her having to rely on god and her own body to regulate her health cause that's her only option being an artist in Serbia. 6)The part where she says the artist is invisible and it’s like magic refers to artists not being recognized by the government and the healthcare system. 7)The last part of the song is in latin and it refers to people prioritizing physical health and outside looks over mental health which is also very important. Now let’s talk about the staging: 1)The obsessive hand-washing refers to COVID 19 and the importance of keeping your hands clean again massively talked about in the mainstream media while neglecting the impact the pandemic had on people's mental health. It also can be paying homage to one of Marina Abramovic’s (internationally known Serbian performance artist) performances called “Art must be pretty, an artist must be pretty” where she sits for hours combing her hair while repeating that cause she realized people focused a lot on her looks and her hair being messy and prioritized that over her art. 2)People standing behind her can be priests that pray for her health and/or are getting ready for her to die. A lot of this is my own interpretation of the song and the lyrics, obviously everyone's allowed to have their own opinion on it so pls don't come for me lol
@actionpotential9455
@actionpotential9455 2 жыл бұрын
I like your interpretation and agree on most of it. But the last latin sentences in my opinion refer to this obsessive pressure people have to be healthy and beautiful and care about themselves, what leads to "a sad soul in a healthy body" or "a frightened mind in a healthy body". I think it criticizes the superficial attitude of the society towards mental and physical health. All in all a very interessting and deep song!

Thank you for actually putting on the ccs! The song, as the artist has said, has a lot of layers to it. You can interpret it in many different ways, and from different perspectives as well. One of them is that the society is desperate to be healthy, all of those commercials about being perfect and healthy, actually makes our minds less healthy, desperate, frightened every day for our body health let's say. We forgot our essence and our nature, and out souls in the way. Thank you for reacting again! Bless you!

What is interesting is that i keep seeing many different interpretations of the lyrics, and that's always great! Personally, my throughs went straight to mental health, but perhaps that's just me projecting. But I took it as the fact that compared to physical health, mental health is wholly neglected. You can be as healthy in body as can be, but if you are struggling mentally - what do you do then. Personally, i am in that situation and the fact that no one takes my limitations seriously just because they are not visible has effectively ruined my life.

I totally agree with your observation on mental vs physical health and mental health being neglected. Maybe so because it is much easier to commercialize everything physical? People have no time to deal with the inner, the invisible, unfortunately. I wish you a speedy recovery!

One of the messages is not to be superficial… Text, act, Latin with Serbian, vibe, visual stage performance by washing hands, which may be interpretated as avoiding and skipping responsibility in a deeper conection!!! ITS JUST SOMETHING ELSE!!! A gift to modern world!!!💖Serbia was responsible for the creation of the modern world by giving the world brilliant minds, and one of them invented electricity! Today pointing out the problema of the modern world and just giving a gift with best wishes, to become better individuals, and love each other!!! GO SERBIA, GO WORLD! HVALA💖

In corpore sano (in a healthy body) is a song that will represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. The music was written by Ana Đurić and Milovan Bošković, and the lyrics by Ana Đurić, who performs under the pseudonym Konstrakta. In corpore sano is an excerpt from the saying - men sana In corpore sano, which means healthy spirit in a healthy body, a verse written by the Roman poet Juvenal, born around the sixties of the new era. And this saying is taken from the verse which reads in its entirety - one should pray for a healthy spirit in a healthy body, ie "orandum est ut sit mens sana in corpore sano". In this original song, at the beginning there is a conditional and at the end the main title - "What are we going to do now?", What are we going to do now if we have a healthy body and a sick spirit, because we are not in healthy but sick times. The essence of Ana Đurić's text is the question - what if we are healthy if our mind is sick? She expresses it in the words - "the body is healthy and what will we do now, a weak mind in a healthy body, a sad soul in a healthy body, a desperate mind in a healthy body, a frightened mind in a healthy body" ... rhythm, Ana actually lets out a howl of despair of a modern man who promotes at all costs a healthy body, physics, matter, supplements, drugs, vaccines and constant hand washing, without anyone caring about the spirit that is sick due to the influence of propaganda, forcing false values for the purpose of general deafening. Humanity is healthy, but the spirit of the times is sick - weak, sad, desperate and scared. I read and listened to many comments that explained why this song won. I also voted for her for several reasons, and here are the main ones. It is important to say that I have been following Eurovision regularly since 1962, for a full 60 years. Although there were several misses, almost all the winning songs of that international competition deserved it with their quality, which was confirmed by the court of time. In the great competition, the song by Ana Đurić and Milovan Bošković was a real refreshment, because it exuded sincerity. The strength of the winning song is that it is not an imitation, but an original whose fuel is a special and unique artistic personality. It affected the audience who recognized it and gave their voice. Comparisons with Marina Abramović and her performances are completely wrong. In these comparisons, perhaps given with the best intentions, the idea of imitation is in fact unfounded. However, the original performance of the Handwashing Contract cannot be questioned by these comments. Washing hands with singing is a great choreographic solution for the title verse of the song - in a healthy body. The song certainly has the features of engaged art, which critically looks at the pandemic of the virus that kept the whole world in prison for two years in the form of satire. Hand washing symbolizes not only something that the health authorities have constantly recommended, but also alludes to hand washing from the responsibility of those who are guilty of this world scam. Although the text is insufficiently understood, and will not be understood by millions of viewers around the world, hand washing will speak for itself more than a thousand words. Unlike others, Konstrakta performed herself, not some imaginary superstar. The song was composed directly from the heart and is performed from the beginning to the end within the limits of the author's power. She does not strive to sing something she cannot, but within the limits of her power she gives the best she can. That must work, because it is true. As a person pressed by the collective fear that was deliberately propagated in the world for two years, Ana exclaimed - it was enough, what I wanted to say and I didn't. I trust her too. I am sure that, regardless of the malicious criticism that can be heard, this artist will win a high place in a major international competition (if held), and more than anyone so far will present Serbia as a country where people think for themselves. Hand washing as a symbol of cleansing from dirt will be well received not only as a kind of marking the end of the pandemic and all controversies, but also an invitation to start washing hands from all diseases of this world, which is not in the corner and which lacks Juvenile - we should pray for a healthy mind in a healthy body. In the end, I would not like to wash my hands out of Konstrakta's performance at Eurovision, and replace it with something else, on the advice of any so-called marketing team, because that would kill the very essence of the message, which will, regardless of hard-to-understand words I am sure that I will convey a clear message coming from Serbia to millions of viewers, which is that, in fact, without a healthy spirit, there is no healthy body. Parts of the song are in Latin, a play on the famous Latin proverb Mens sana in corpore sano. However, she rearranged it, so the health of your body comes before the mental health. The first line is actually in reverse - Mens enfermos in corpore sano (a sick mind in a healthy body). As for the Megan Markle part, it's a jab at mainstream media and what's being broadcasted as huge news, and how media reinforces our obsession with appearance and with the superficial. Illness is reflected on your face and body, you can't risk getting sick, you've got to stay beautiful. Stay beautiful, stay healthy, illness is not pretty. [ edit: ] Those are some things I noticed most people are confused about - Latin, and Megan. Especially Megan 🤣. Carrying on...She's wearing nurse uniform on purpose. Also, the flowers are not there by coincidence - you bring carnations to sick people, to express gratitude to the nurses (a local custom, bordeline bribery even), or to the cemeteries. It's open for interpretation. So, even these small details carry a message, and you have to watch this song as an art performance which carries an important message. Obsessively washing your hands is again obsession with physical health, or could be interpreted as that. Again, mental health is neglected (Latin is important here). If you want to take the meaning of the metaphor even further, it could be the government washing their hands from responsibility. [ the end of the part that was edited in] And then there's the fact that she, as an artist, has got no health insurance. I'm surprised the song won in the election year, but I guess Vucic's (cult) followers missed the point (one of many points) of the song xD

The artist must be healthy - is a review of the famous performance of Marina Abramović "Art must be beautiful, the artist must be beautiful" where she aggressively combs her hair while saying these words again. The performance was inspired by Marina's newspaper article, which she wrote had a big nose and tousled hair. Here he also says that female artists are under more pressure to be conventional beauties in order for people to pay attention to their art and how male artists do not have that pressure to have to beautify themselves in order for people to consider their art. As in the performance of Marina, who combs her already combed hair again, Konstrakta washes her clean hands again and wonders what is the secret of healthy or beautiful hair and skin. Washing his hands again and reading the song also cast a shadow over the COVID-19 virus pandemic when people were obsessed with hygiene. All this gained additional weight because, as an artist without health insurance, she would not be able to afford treatment in case of complications, which put us in a vicious circle of beauty, art, physical and mental health, or disease.

The biggest inspiration for the song is in the way how unprotected and unsecured, from medical institutions point of view, artists are - in Serbia, but in many other countries as well. Especially during pandemic this was an incredible risky period as beside not having the same rights as many other professionals, artists also couldn't ear their livelihood which put them in even greater danger. Since in Serbia it's not only artists that are neglected by the system, but many other professions as well, this song is especially dedicated to all of them. But I guess that even wider audience can relate to it, especially those who feel how we are taking care only about physical aspects of us and neglecting mental and soulful side of us humans, which is why the song is so powerful.

That's far too literal - you've missed the point. There's a lot more subtlety in her message:- In the first part of the song, she says "An artist MUST be healthy." Then she talks about her heart beating automatically, without her having to do anything to make it beat, about breathing, without having to think about it, and walking her dog on a sunny day, dressed in bright clothes, her heart beating, breathing effortlessly, it's all one needs, couldn't be better. Then a touch of anxiety creeps in, she doesn't have her Health Identity card, so how will they monitor and track her? How will they take care of her? She's invisible, as if it were magic. And then immediately, there's defiance - An artist CAN be healthy, implying she doesn't need anyone to track her every action, to nanny her, just like her heart beat and breathing happen naturally and automatically. She then repeats and emphasises "An artist CAN be healthy, CAN CAN CAN" The sentiment is all positive. She then stops washing her hands, and shows her sound mind by summarising where we are now:- weak minds, sadness, desperation and terror for the sake of healthy bodies. And what now?! she asks. The change from "artist MUST be healthy" to "artist CAN be healthy" is very telling.

Serbia's contribution to this year's ESC is remarkable in many ways. "In corpore sano" refers to the old Latin idiom "Mens sana in corpore sano" which means "a healthy mind in a healthy body". The song is also a reckoning with 2 years of pandemic, where the main thing was to save bodies, detached from the damage the psyche has suffered through sometimes irrational measures. Also typical for a time that allows superficial body optimization with all its absurdities and constraints as the only raison d'être - with the result of a sick, sad and desperate spirit in a "healthy" body.

This is sooooóó good!!! Real art, bravo! There are more than 2-3 different, important topics in the song and even more interpretations. It needs listening/ watching 4-5x to understand the metaphorical meaning (this isn't an usual la-la-laa song). 1. Megan: Rich people/ contrast in lifestyle, "beauty", their artificiallity and us, ordinary people on the other side. 2. Washing hands: in Slavic nations it emphasises how the "authorities/governments" "washing hands" or not taking responsibility for the wellbeing of the ordinary people (water washes everything/every dirt from their hand/authorities hands). 3. Last 2 years & Covid-19 measures, people were locked at home, directed to wash hands/face etc. in order to keep themselves healthy but at the same time them 5 people in dark clothes standing & watching?! These are the authorities. 4. "Let the heart beating..." we are actually left alone, nobody cares about ordinary people. 5. Find a video with English subtitles and read what is she singing in her last 3-4 sentences in Latin!!!! This is actually the finale..." ill/sick mind in the healthy body" = we became unwell/ill because of the restrictions during last few years...the ongoing lockdowns across the planet created so many mental health problems. 6. Now after hearing/ understanding last 3 sentences, go to the beginning and start again... here come the rich people (Megan)... they can be "beautiful" ...bla,bla... but in the end coping them, celebrities makes us all artificial and we lost our mind, ourselves, we gave/sold our souls because of copying various top models and celebrities and wanting to be/look like them. :)

The hand gestures they are making after the clapping are used to imply someone is "not all there" (i.e. is of unsound mind) so yes - among other things, the song is about mental health. It's also about the fact that artists - being 'freelancers' - don't have health insurance/sick leave in Serbia (which, incidentally, is the reason why she's washing her hands obsessively and praying for health - because she can't afford to get sick). And in the end, even if we manage to keep our bodies in perfect health, the mind might be an altogether different story.... and then what? "Wash, rinse, repeat..."

Neurosis ... Pandemic, collapsed health care system. Beautifully described in the poem ... where people are symbolically satisfied while the real needs (for love) are hidden and suppressed. Then the facade is repaired, some pleasures are sought, but the emptiness is always there ... there is an illness with oneself (a mirror for wine in the bathroom) - the knowledge that there is no one after all ... there is no place. the answer is in us. pain has led to neurosis and represents a way out of it. it must be felt and resolved in order for a person to feel first himself and then the people around him ..

To better understand, turn on subtitles/cc. It is actually pure artistic theater play in four acts packed in just 3 min. covered with a fantastically arranged musical matrix around a hypnotic rhythm, which perfectly follows the story told with a vocal that vibrates as part of the music (take attention for all details). Enough to be a masterpiece, even in the selection of the famous theater festival in Edinburgh. And the story is as follows Intro - EVERYTHING IS UPSIDE DOWN A modified Latin saying: a sick mind in a healthy body was read backwards. Act one - ROUTINE We waste our time following celebrities and other people's lives, and discuss about them, about nonsense through the social networks (what is the secret of healthy hair Megan Markl). It's going even deeper. This became normal behaviours and it is compared with health, healthy behaviour. So, expectation is that artress also must be part of this "normal behaviours" (MUST be healthy). Act two - LONELINESS We are now part of this routines, some system control our fundamental functions (heart ticking and breathing), we are alive, in virtual world and it's OK. But we are alone. No children, no friends, only dog. We are walking satisfied but without sense, with empty mind (counting steps, and that's all). Act three - COGNITION Knjižica in Serbian is not only social security, but it's also symbol of belonging to some system or organisation as a member What if I am not a member? If I'm out of system? We will lost our followers, others will not monitor us anymore (what was normal, healthy), nobody will "care" about us, or organize our life (what was normal, healthy), and artress become invisible when she is out of system. Act four - WAKING UP The absence of system influence artress see like a magic, becouse it means independence, so she CAN be healthy, with open mind, according to Latin saying "men sana in corpore sano" (healthy mind in healthy body). Can be, can be, can be. conclusion - WHAT'S ABOUT MIND? Everything is about body condition (corpore sano, corpore sano, corpus is sano - and body is healthy), but no one talks about the state of mind. So, she mentions those states of mind and ask: And what shell we do? And finally, the messages from the stage and the video. When health is mentioned, hand movements show that something is not normal. We need to be washed constantly, to be clean. Our mind same as our body. Either others will do it or we will do it ourselves. Again and again... So, regardless of the placement, its appearance is a victory for Serbia and the Eurovision Song Contest.

Fact Check: artists in Serbia that are certified self-employed artists (certified by professional artistic associations), with the social-professional status "samostalni umetnik" (independent/self-employed/free-lance artist) do have health insurance and social security (pension-invalidity insurance)!!! She said, in the song, "nemam knjižicu" which could correctly be translated as "I don't have a health insurance card" or "(but) I don't have a health insurance card". So, that is a reflection of her own, personal, situation... The only downside for certified artists in Serbia is that they must regularly, once a year, or sometimes every 6 months, prove their artistic activity (publication of works/released musical works/ certified art exhibitions, group shows or solo exhibitions, etc.). So lets keep our facts clear in a real legal and administrative sense without improvisations or any prejudices! The song is nice and is socially critical and constructive! Peace and love to all!

What we fought for a long time ago on May 1, you all forgot a long time ago. Every employee has the right to health insurance, ie the employer is obliged to provide health insurance. or not? why and when did we all agree to this? Pontius Pilate washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person'. This was to show the crowd he did not want Jesus dead, but ordered his death because that is what the people wanted. He was washing his hands of the responsibility. Whole stage is a metaphor. She represents health system washing hands of responsibility for artist without health insurance. Mens sana in corpore sano (A sound mind in a sound body). The point artist is trying to make is that news media write and talk about health, supplements, diet, beauty, exercising... Meghan Markle was mentioned because in media there was an article about most important issue for the survival of life on our planet, her hair. According to media, woman has to be beautiful, artist has to be beautiful and healthy otherwise can not succeed. And artist asks: What about "Mens sana" part? Media do not care about state of mind, peoples spirit, mental health. To the contrary. Fake news, all sorts of lies (Serbians are especially sensitive because they were and still are victims of media warfare for over three decades) are there to make us total idiots, ignorant about what really is happening around us, spreading belief that nuclear war can be won or that Putin is going to back down if enough pressure he is under, unaware of how close we are of destroying our home, Earth. Read lyrics carefully several times, and pay attention to lyrics at the end: "A sick mind in a healthy body A sad soul in a healthy body A desperate mind in a healthy body A terrified mind in a healthy body" Celebrities look beautiful and healthy and than, unexpectedly, they commit a suicide. Whitney Houston, Robin Williams...

Hello from Serbia. Song is critique of serbian health system where artist are paying taxes every time they earn something, but in return they don't have state health insurance (card in song). That is the reason why she is repeating "artist must stay healthy", in other words, if artist gets sick they will need to pay medical bills in state hospitals, same like they go to private practice.

Contrary to witty, it is actually a very serious work of art that calls for deeper reflection. It doesn't matter how you fare in the competition. The Internet is already glowing, and that is the purpose of art. You need to listen a few times from the beginning and your eyes slowly open. A refrain is a kind of mantra that we need to listen to every day to make our mental health better. Sound is the cure and therapy for this gloomy society of today!

This song has multiple layers. It is hard to understand for many. But who understands it knows that this is a high quality song, not a mainstream sh***t. Konstrakta is a musician that makes her own music and lyrics, she is genuine. So about a song, one could say that this song promotes health awareness ( many musicians in Serbia and worldwide doesn't care about their health, they overeat and get fat, smoke, drink too much, do hard drugs like a cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, they do not sleep much, etc.) And she sings about signs on the skin and hair that are indicators of poor health and various serious diseases. Also she mentions a mental disorders that are consequence of living a such life. And she states that a musician or performer must and can be healthy. Also she implies that some of performers does not have a health insurance (health card), and that they mast pay a private doctors to heal them, and many can't afford it. But all in all best way is prevention, live a healthy life and you will not have those problems. Slow down, do not chase money and glory, take care of yourself, take a walk in park with your dog, enjoy fresh air, nature, relax.That is all that you body and mind needs. Listen to other songs made by Konstrakta, in those songs songs she sings about class differences, living a life pretending to be someone else, not yourself, about people that are lost in present society, striped of they human and natural form. Heavy stuff, but good stuff. And music and lyrics are exquisite. Konstrakta and her music deserves much more attention unlike commercial, mainstream, folk music sh***t.

Konstrakta says : "I don't have health ensurance" was emerged like lot of people are most recognized. On the other side some people connect that with Covid and the whole situation even that wasnt my basic meaning. Probably there is satiation with all about Covid and presure to be healthy. For now I see that these two things is most stand out. There is so much more themes .Also there's no intention, its simple some process of thoughts on this topic and start with that chaos in media and that infosphere about health that point out on "Hair of Meghan Markle" which is mentioned like something that is really important and passing by atmosfere that "Artist" and all of us must be healthy, thats presure and like that is something most wanted and top value in life and a bunch of trends that is in that field and also that question, do I have a support of system ? Do I have health ensurance ?And option that you can be healthy if you make a distance of all that pressure to spending endless examination and supplements etc. On the other hand there is frase on Latin with two sides. At first, there is a body that is a base of consummation and second psychologically healing "I sta cemo sad (So now what)" ? Mens infirma in corpore sano(A sick mind in a healthy body) Animus tristis in corpore sano(A sad soul in a healthy body) Mens desperata in corpore sano(A desperate mind in a healthy body) Mens conterrita in corpore sano(A terrified mind in a healthy body) In this moment I see that like a new area of consumption. Stratification all state of psychology and finding cure for all psychology condition which is background of consummation.

I wonder what's the secret behind Meghan Markle's healthy hair? I wonder what's the secret? (I wonder what's the secret?) I think that Deep hydration is what it is They say that One's skin and hair show everything clearly For example, dark circles around the eyes Could indicate liver problems Blemishes around the lips, enlarged spleen perhaps? Enlarged spleen is not good, it's not pretty And the artist, she needs to be healthy Be healthy, be healthy, be healthy B-b-b be healthy Be healthy, be healthy, be healthy She must be, she must be, she must be We're incredibly lucky That there's such a thing as the autonomic nervous system I don't need to control my own heart beats The heart beats, the heart beats on its own Bright colors of a summer day My skirts are on my body, My skirts, the dog and I The two of us are talking a walk We're counting the steps The skirt goes around my leg We are taking a walk, and that's it And it doesn't need to get any better than this The heart beats on its own I put my trust in it Let it beat on its own I put my trust in it Let it beat, let me breathe God, give me health God, give me health God, give me health (God, give me health) I don't have health insurance* How will they be able to keep track of me? (In the name of health) To care for me? (In the name of health) The artist, she is invisible (In the name of health) You don't see me, it's magic (In the name of health) The artist, she can be healthy Be healthy, be healthy, be healthy B-b-b be healthy Be healthy, be healthy, be healthy She can be, she can be, she can be In a healthy body, in a healthy body In a healthy body, in a healthy body In a healthy body, in a healthy body The body is healthy So now what? A sick mind in a healthy body A sad soul in a healthy body A desperate mind in a healthy body A terrified mind in a healthy body So now what? * Literal translation: "I don't have the little book." Little book is referred to "little health book" ("zdravstvena knjižica" in Serbian), a document issued to people who have statutory health insurance in Serbia. Today, this document is in plastic card form, but in the past, the document was issued on a piece of very thick paper which would then fold in two places to resemble a small book that can be opened. Even though today it takes the card form, it is still officially called and referred to as a "little health book".

The song hasn't been made for global scene. When taking place in competition her aim was to promote her art, not to win. The song has so many layers, and it takes a time to analyze every verse. From her personal life: her friend and band mate died because she didn't have health insurance. Most of the people in Serbia are covered by medical insurance, however, for some categories of people, like artists, small farmers, small private business runners, people with unsecure and small income, it's not affordable. On the other hand, those who have health insurance are registered and all the details about medical conditions, vaccination, medications are in a computer system available in pharmacies and medical institutions all over the country . That's why she asks herself how was she going to be watched and followed without insurance, in the name of health. DOG WALKING: At the beginning of Covid outbreak Serbian people were faced with extreme anti-Covid lockdown. The dog owners managed to get right to have 20 minutes walk around the apartment with their pets during it. But, the distance from the residence had to be respected. I think it was 200 meters. The police was controlling pet owners and I heard that their mobiles were used to monitor the distance. That might be the reason why she was counting the steps, but on the other hand, the world is obsessed with measures and numbers. CROSS: There is a red cross, as a symbol of medical institution. At the same time, there is Gregorian chanting and trust in God's help. Pontius Pilat washed his hands after killing Jesus. The colors are black and white: singers dressed like monks, in black, with white towels, ready to wash their hands and assisting in her hand washing.

Konstrakta's best friend (a musician in her band) passed away from cancer a few years ago because he did not have health insurance. Many artists in Serbia do not have health insurance and health coverage. They are on their own. She is obsessively washing her hands and relying on God, counting steps, hoping she is healthy because she will not be able to afford healthcare if she gets ill. Additionally, the song is a criticism of the obsession with the outside beauty and appearance; people are not even worried about their health; they just wanna know the "secret to healthy hair of celebrities" (e.g., Meghan Markle), or beautiful nails, or beautiful makeup - people do not even care about health, especially mental health. For instance, we were obsessed with Meghan Markle's beauty, but nobody even noticed her mental struggle and depression she was suffering a few years ago. in addition, she used Marina Abramovic as an inspiration for this performance.

She is washing her hands because WHO's advice on the Covid virus was to regularly wash hands which turned people OCD with hand scrubbing and sanitisation.

She is from Serbia, and artists and freelancers do not have health insurance here. Also, out health care system is quite corrupted. So, she is in white, representing a doctor or a nurse who is washing her hands of patients without health insurance, or maltreated patients, patients who die because the waiting lists for some treatments are too long, etc. She is also talking about the pressure of female artists to be and stay young-looking, beautiful and with a healthy body: but all that pressure often leads to an ill soul. She is also talking about we make role models of persons who are completely out of our world, fake, unrealistic models. (Though, I didn't even know who Megan was before this song. Then I googled :D ) And the pressure of companies who sell us "health" always implying how the control of our health is completely within our grasp and we can constantly think about it and care for the health of the body (neglecting the health of the mind) - but then she mention the heart beating and breathing as something which is without our controle, the part of our health we don't have to be obsessed with because it works by itself - and little trust and confidence that not everything has to be under our control and that things can turn out well even if we are not obsessively controlling them - is actually good for mental health. Some people might find more layers of meaning here, the song is complex.

Hello from Belgrade, Serbia. In essence, it draws attention to the health care system in Serbia, which is a horror. Many doctors are not interested in patients, are unfair to them, etc. God forbid that you are not well and that you need them. For example, people who have MS are not treated because there is no cure. The state and the health care system are letting the disease destroy lives and families. This is just one example.
