Labradors are the GOAT of the dog world, incredible dogs in terms of being companions, highly trainable and are incredible assistance dogs, incredibly child and family freindly, reasoanbly athletic and great sniffer dogs. The English Springer Spaniel is also a Goated breed and has the same sort of abilites as a Labrador although they are better sniffers and more athletic, Springers require more training, more exercise and at times can be complete nutters. Andrex made the Labrador puppy the face of theri brand for a reason.

Labs are the go to first dog. Easy to work with, social, friendly, with short hair that requires little maintenance other than the occasional groom, and normally not fussy eaters.

Just very high energy and a high food drive. Fetch 3x a day or doggy day care should tire them out. This will also keep their weight down from the food they steal.

If it helps, I taught mine to retrieve by throwing it just a couple feet from me and then when she'd go to it and pick it up I'd go up and exchange it for a treat. She got the hang quick and now she loves fetch without treats :)

My goldie's best friend is a Lab. His "crush" is a Lab. His favourite puppy in the street is, you guessed it, also a Lab. You know just how good they are when even other dog breeds adore them.

My best dog was a beautiful chocolate Lab. I got her when she was only four weeks old, so she never realized that she was actually a dog, and as a result with hyper focused on her humans. She was the smartest dog. She would drink water on command, would understand if you told her to pick up your shoe and bring it to you and then bring you your sock, or hairbrush. She was taught to heel by 10 weeks old, and she knew not to cross the street unless given the command. She was absolutely loyal and affectionate And yet she was a great watch dog, too. RIP Tess.

Our family have always had Labrador retrievers. My Dad was a hunter in his younger years, and they absolutely loved to jump in the box Dad built for them on the atv. Amazing dogs! My nephew is a chocolate lab named Connor. ❤

I had labs as my best dogs when I was young. Danny was a bouncy dog like the one shown in the kitchen. When my dog would bounce I would sing 🎶 'like a bouncing ball I'll come bouncing back to you oo - oo -oooh... bouncy - bouncy, bouncy - bouncy, bouncy- bouncy... '🎶 They are very playful. 😊

I hope thats true. I just bought a new black lab and he is very aggressive already loves to bite and cheww. If we try taking it out he barks. Hooe he will turn out gentle. I never had a dog before

@@rohini591make sure you have lots of chew toys. I have a black American lab, about 7 months old now. He is very energetic but so loyal and friendly! They’re highly food motivated and when they’re puppies they are very curious and have to analyze everything with their mouth so make sure you’re constantly reminding them to fetch their chew toys! As they grow older they calm down but it’s definitely a lot of work making sure they stay out of trouble as puppies:) it is absolutely worth it though, those dogs will make you feel like their world!

@@rohini591also don’t mistake playfulness as aggressiveness. They typically are never aggressive, but ensure you instill good habits by training play-biting out of them:)

Best doggo I’ve ever owned was a Lab. I miss him every single day. He was the sweetest, most amazing bub. And so friggin smart man. He loved to swim and jus be in your presence. Whatever I was doing, he just wanted to be there to watch and experience. If I was sad, he knew it and would immediately come love on me. Best doggo ever. RIP Jakey Poo ❤

My favorite dog breed! The first dog I had was a loving black labrador called 'Batman'. We had him for 15 years, got him when I was 9 years old. I'm now 25 and I still miss him sometimes. He loved the water and would always jump in front of the hose whenever we would clean something.

We took in/were gifted a 2 year-old female yellow lab named Sandy many years ago when our now-grown children were younger. Sandy was an awesome all-around dog that kept watch over the house and kids and would chase a tennis ball to the moon. One of the toys we bought was a rubber elongated fetch toy commonly refered to as a "dummy". I was looking for the toy one day as Sandy and I were about to head out for some exercise, and sbest-mindedly asked my wife if she had seen Sandy's "dummy". That little pause was hillaroious. I sure miss my my girl.

Adopt a black lab mix. They're very common amongst stray/homeless dogs and very hard to place because they're not purebreds. However they can have a heart of gold and bring loads of love to your life.

My lab is 💯 accurate with everything they listed. They could’ve added my dog for more drool though. Never seen a dog salivate so much when food is near her. 😆😆😆😆
