While on a walk, Serena sees the statue of a fisherman and immediately falls in love, but once the pedestal is left empty, she decides to put Darrin in its place.
From Bewitched, Season 7 Episode 5, 'Darrin On A Pedestal,' while sight-seeing with Serena in Massachusetts, she brings the Fisherman's Memorial to life and replaces the statue with Darrin.

I was at the filming of this episode when my family went to visit my Aunt (just a few streets away). I was young but it was so Exciting. There were a whole row of Camper/ Bus for the Actors. I recall Elizabeth Montgomery climbing up to the Statute and talking to it. I saw "Larry Tate" too. The Episode was on TV about 6 - 8 months later.

Barbara Eden did a awesome job playing both characters to just like Elizabeth Mongomery 2 beautiful talented women .

Elizabeth Montgomery always played the role of a nice and caring witch for a wife. If the writters had to tell a story, like this one, then she would have two roles. For openers a nice, kind hearted wife while the second one would be her cousin, Serena, who is double the trouble of Endora. Please think positive at all times. ©® February 09, 2021 @ 10:25 pm ©®

This must’ve been the final season or close to it. The show was very different at this point.. more groovy 70s vib to it.

The show was never the same after Dick York left because of his back. Dick Sargent just never melded well with the rest of the cast.

@@jtkirkfan2002 Ironically he was the first choice for Darrin. Both Elizabeth Montgomery and producer William Asher liked him. He wasn't available at the time because he was under contract to Universal for a TV show so they picked Dick York instead

I was there for the filming of this episode. I think it took 2 days( could be wrong) My family lived in Gloucester, I was 12 years old at the time :) One of the things I remember was how beautiful and tiny Elizabeth Montgomery was. They used the other "pedestal" further down the boulevard for the "changing" shots if I remember.

I believe this was filmed in glouster MA. There's a castle there worth the trip just make sure you have a ride There's a lot of tall trees and ocean near by which means no signal and not many cabs go that far.

Golly talk about jumping the shark. I think this is when they went to the Salem, MA area for an episode or two. Liz Montgomery could camp and mug, but not act. At all.

the reason for the salem episodes was the fact that the entire set had burned down it all had to be rebuilt.hence the remodel to the home in the 7th and 8th season

That's hardly fair. Elizabeth Montgomery could certainly act. See The Lizzie Borden Story or The Blanche Taylor Moore Murders, for instance. Yes, she did camp and mug it up as Serena.

Couldn't act? You're an expert? That's a joke, considering Elizabeth went to a tough acting school in New York. On top of that, she came from an acting family. Robert Montgomery was her father who was tough on her. Elizabeth's goal was to prove herself and to get out from under her father's shadow. She accomplished both. Elizabeth created Serena as a way to stretch her talent and to allow her to play off with Samantha. Finally, Elizabeth was nominated nine times for an Emmy and I think four Golden Globe awards. One doesn't garner that kind of recognition unless a person is very good. She didn't win, some speculate it was because of her dislike for the Hollywood scene. Robert Foxworth once said that she preferred to work in her garden than attend a Hollywood event. Perhaps it was also because Elizabeth was a bit of a shy person. All I have to say is, Elizabeth Montgomery had talent in excess. She also had something else, something more than awards, the admiration and love of millions of fans. And this is coming from someone who isn't that much into the Hollywood scene.
