I’m a teacher. One of my 7th grade girls started slapping a 7th grade boy. I started to run over but before I could get there he punched her in the face and she literally barrel rolled over onto the ground and her glasses went flying. I confronted him and told him he shouldn’t hit girls and he should know better. I wrote them both up but told her afterwards that she should never confront a boy or man physically. I told her it will not be a fair fight and she will very likely be seriously hurt. I told her she must find other ways than physical when in confrontations. I hope she learned. Serena is right. I love her dearly and she is the GOAT in my opinion but everything she said is true. I’m a man and wouldn’t try to wrestle a bear. There is a distinct disadvantage I would have and it wouldn’t be fair.

Serena referenced Billy Jean King, who seems to be the only female tennis player to ever win against a male competitor, in 1973. It doesn’t appear to have happened before or since, meaning it feels like the Williams sisters understand that, while impressive, this was perhaps a coincidence, because TYPICALLY, women can barely compete, much less win, and an outlier shouldn’t define the rules for the majority. These two women understand how hard they worked to get where they are and they actually understand that if mens and womens sports combined, they would not be in the places they are today because those positions would have been taken by a man along time ago.

This is one of the top athletes who's been professionally training and on the genuine grind since she was a child. She knows her stuff, it's literally engrained in her FROM EXPERIENCE. You can't mess with that mentality or question her on it. She isn't saying that woman's tennis is inferior to men's or anything. She's just saying it's different, which is true.

She is right. Men have 40% more muscle mass and strenght. Their bone structure and body tissue is different (the latter much tighter), they're much faster, their heart and lungs are bigger, the bigger lung capacity gives them an advantage with regard to oxygen intake, etc., etc.!

I don’t understand the issue. Serena Williams has done great things for female athletes. She has all the support that crowd has been asking for! She is a fantastic athlete. How are average people going to just ignore that someone at the peak of athletic performance for women is even admitting that males at the same level just perform on a different level?
