don't talk rubbish. I am a Brit and not a particularly patriotic one. My fave player is Venus, and am not averse to Serena either. The crowd were naughty but they were naughty because they were in support of Heather. The SW19 crowds have historically been much more positive to the Williams sisters than the US crowds!!

I was at the match. Although I am a Brit, the Wimbledon crowd (in this particular match) acted disgracefully and were downright rude..People in the crowd were calling and screaming out every time Serena played close to the baseline. Which was outrageous mainly because most of them were at least a foot in. They were also screaming, shouting out before her second serve and applauding when her first serve went into the net as well as clapping her double faults when serving. True, as a Brit, I was hoping Heather would pull through, but the way some of the crowd behaved was completely out of etiquette. Late in the third set, Serena very politely spoke to the chair umpire asking for a bit of silence. This was completely within her right, and they even disrespectfully booed her for that..

Danny L well the home crowd will always support their own over a foreign opponent but I think they were not being as respectful as they should be. I also think the crowds start beginning to count the chickens before they hatch. Heather was near to winning but I felt they were acting like she had already won.
