[ ** 8 MONTH UPDATE: November 6, 2022 ** Sergei is back on tour! ( You can see his return performance and update here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9Ohf5mYm-DYZXU.html ) Sergei and his family returned to Russia shortly after this video was made and they are now living in Moscow. He and Elena have announced their official engagement and plans for a wedding sometime in spring of 2023, after their tour schedules have slowed down. They are excited about their current and upcoming creative projects. One of them will be a dramatic production of "The Master and Margarita." with Sergei and Elena performing lead roles. The show is scheduled for spring of 2023. Although he is still recovering from his injury and has expressed that he some limitations as he continues rehabilitation, Sergei has returned to dancing and is proving that he is still as dynamic on stage as ever. He has had a full tour schedule since the end of September. After 2 sold-out PoluninInk performances of Satori in Tashkent, Sergei (and Elena!) have been on a very successful month-long Russian tour with the Rasputin show (videos available on his KZfaq channel!). Enthusiastic audience members have shared videos on Instagram of clips of the performances, as well the standing ovations and wild applause at the end of the shows, and many have expressed how deeply moved they were by the performances of all the artists involved. Elena has also returned to the ice and is currently performing weekly on the ice dancing competition show "Ice Age". When filming conflicts have arisen between Ice Age and Rasputin, the role of Empress Alexandra in Rasputin has been performed by ballerina Ksenia Ryzhkova. Elena and Sergei are also scheduled to perform in November at a show celebrating ice skater Evgeni Plushenko. Sergei has also announced that there will be additional venues and performance dates for the "Rasputin" tour. He has also released a new promotional video for his upcoming "Dante" performance scheduled for December 7, 2022. ** ] Sergei Polunin’s Achilles Injury: How It Happened & 6 Week Update.

Sergei has returned to the stage and has already begun touring again, with around 10 performances currently scheduled over the next month. :) If you haven't seen it, This is a video about Sergei's return performance in July: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9Ohf5mYm-DYZXU.html He just performed a sold-out Satori show for two days in Tashkent. (This is a two part show, with solos from various dancers in the first part and a dramatic ballet in the second part.) Sergei performed two solos. This is his Moonlight Sonata Performance: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/it6nZ7amy929Y5s.html And this is his second solo from Satori, shared by another KZfaqr: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iZd0a5yhytOdY2w.html He just performed at an art concert in Moscow last night and he has his first Rasputin performances coming up this weekend in Moscow and St. Petersburg with six more shows scheduled through early November. He admits that he still has some limitations as he continues to fully recover (he can't yet perform "Take Me To Church" ) but, at least in my view, he is dancing as passionately and beautifully as ever.

I know what it feels like to be flying one moment then not being able to walk a second later. As a professional dancer dancing into my 40s I’ve had many surgeries and setbacks. Although I was able to prove many wrong by being able to come back after few “career ending” injuries (ACL rupture, meniscus tear, Achilles tendinitis, hip socket distortion…etc), I realize now I could have taken things slower to prevent other injuries. I’m sure Sergei will come back dancing phenomenal as usual, but please take your time. No need to rush!

He's soooo amazing as a dancer. It's terribly sad that he loves Pootin so much. He could have made it all over the world, now his children are condemned to a life in a terrorist state because of his tattoos... He can't even go home because of that choice. Just terribly tragic.
@IndiaInk
@IndiaInk 11 ай бұрын
Yes. It is all terribly tragic. It's terribly sad that, if Russia is your definition of a terrorist state, there may be few countries in the world where Sergei would not be raising his children in a terrorist state. (For example, my country, the USA, has illegally invaded multiple countries with impunity over the past few decades, and is, for example, currently illegally occupying Syria without receiving any significant backlash or sanction on the world stage...) And along those lines, it's terribly sad that it's demonstrably provable that the USA and members of the European Union helped foment and encourage a violent coup in Ukraine in 2014 and helped install an illegal government that many Eastern Ukrainians refused to recognize and support and, as a result, those Ukrainians from cities and regions such as Odessa, Mariupol, Luhansk and Donetsk and Crimea protested and held referendums to become independent from what they saw as an illegitimate government and so were attacked by this government and, since that time, the areas in the Donbass have been locked in this civil war. It's terribly sad that the Minsk II Agreements which were meant to bring peace to Ukraine and were signed by Ukraine and guaranteed by France and Germany and endorsed by a UN Security Council resolution were not signed in good faith and that the areas of contentious interpretation in the agreements were used only to give Ukraine more time to prepare itself for war. (The leaders of all three countries have admitted as much.) It's a terrible shame that the geopolitical issues underneath this conflict have been recognized by USA political advisors for decades and that the USA has specifically and intentionally used these issues in Ukraine to encourage and pursue a proxy war with Russia. And that they will continue to wage this war "to the last Ukrainian" if need be, caring nothing for Ukraine or her people. And it's a shame the Ukrainians are being led by a government that seems agreeable to being this proxy, regardless the cost to their nation. It's hauntingly tragic that the only recourse left when binding peace agreements are treated like so much toilet paper and the Ukrainian president signs a decree refusing to negotiate with the Russian president that the only recourse left to resolve these issues of sovereignty, security, national boarders, and human rights seems to be armed conflict and the needless death of hundreds of thousands of people. Sergei's tattoos represent his convictions. While they surely don't help the matter, he can't enter Ukraine or visit his relatives in Kherson, not because he has tattoos of Putin, but more specifically, because he chose to support the people of Crimea as well as Putin by performing in a ballet in Sevastopol in 2018 where Putin was in audience. And it's sad that, in the same lament obviously and freely critical of Putin and Russia, you recognize that Sergei "can't even go home", and the reality of his situation passes without comment on what type of government would imprison someone like Sergei for having a peaceful, but differing opinion on a political issue. Yes. This entire situation, with our entire world seeming to be at war in one way or another, is terribly heavy and tragic indeed.

@@IndiaInk I am aware of his convictions and the stories of many of his tattoos. I don't think less of him in any way... You misunderstand me and the way I personally feel. I think he's actually one of the most beautiful people, beautiful artists, who exist today. That said, I won't back down from the overwhelming information, evidence and proof gathered extensively over decades that proves just how inhumane and brutal the war crimes are that Russia has committed. More importantly the crimes just over the past yr and a half. As far as America goes, I won't waste time on that, because I can't personally make excuses for Republican extremist presidents and their bullshit invasions and lies. It's embarrassing and they're gross people with zero integrity. But, if you take time to investigate what's been going on in Ukraine (to the level I personally have) historically the crimes by America don't compare to to what we see with Russia today. That's just my opinion(and the opinions of nearly all Western countries). I'm sure Sergei has some strong feelings about it being that his mom and many friends live in Kiyv and his birth town. I know he's talked about how he feels to be labeled a terrorist by his own country... Personally, I feel it's CLEARLY wrong. His reasoning for moving to Russia wasn't politically motivated in any way, quite the opposite. He was basically forced there due to what I would call extreme circumstances. Sadly, he did claim to support Pootin, that's no bueno. But beyond simply stating that... He didn't really do anything besides getting tattoos...? It's not enough in my opinion to label him the way he has been. Artists are notorious for using their bodies the way he has. It doesn't mean he's some kind of maniac. All anyone needs to do to understand his message and general personality is spend a couple days watching his incredible story, the evolution of his artistry and then hopefully follow his message into today. If a person has any emotional intelligence they'll clearly see that he's an EXTREMELY spiritual, highly understanding and empathetic human being who continues to evolve and become more humbled as he grows. Qualities that can only help his art become even more beautiful. His transformation has been a joy to watch. I feel badly that his incredible talent is trapped behind a wall of misunderstanding and that the world is denied such an incredible talent and sincerely beautiful dancer and man. I wish I had the opportunity to see him in person. He is so moving to watch he gives me goosebumps. Given everything do I wish he wasn't in Russia? Yes. Of course I do! He's so close to the end of his career. I hate to see him unable to perform anywhere but in Russia, Israel and maybe India and China if they currently support venues for ballet.

I highly value and respect fans like you who are so supportive of Sergei despite vehemently disagreeing with him, and who are so willing to acknowledge the wrong-headed actions of governments all around, and who see Sergei's heart and his talent and his beauty as a person. I dislike engaging in political discussions online, not because I don't think it's important for both sides to engage in discussion, but because I dislike arguing and I simply don't have time to discuss things properly. But due to some of your statements, I felt it was important to make an effort to reply, if only for those who happen to read these comments. Like you, these are just my opinions and observations and interpretations of facts and you're not obligated to consider them valid. Many people would agree with them and many people (especially in Western countries) will disagree with them. I respect that you've taken the time to do a lot of research and that you are confident in your conclusions. But one of the hardest things I've found that we deal with all around the world when it comes to trying to research what's going on politically is that, especially during this situation with Ukraine, we can all be looking at and grieving over the same dead bodies and atrocities and, depending on how the facts are reported and interpreted, be blaming completely different sides for it, thinking that we have solid reasons for doing so. I've seen propaganda on both sides during this war and, unfortunately, I've seen too many examples of victims of Ukrainian attacks having their pictures used on the covers of European and USA news reports as examples of Russian attacks to put much faith in what the mainstream Western press reports when it comes to Russian war crimes at the moment. And before I say more on that, I'll go on a brief tangent to note that, I think it's important for you to be aware that you seem to have blind spots when it comes to the USA, which you might want to be aware of as you continue to research what's going on in the world. Blind spots such as considering it a strictly Republican thing regarding the USA's wars and invasions and bombings of independent countries we aren't at war with and committing terrorism and war crimes. You're aware that Clinton, Obama, and Biden are all Democrats? Are you aware of their involvement in the bombing and destruction of Yugoslavia, Syria, Libya, etc? Not to mention that it was Obama and Biden who were in power and directly responsible for overseeing the 2014 Ukrainian coup and installing the government officials afterwards, which helped foment and give rise to the civil war there, which helped bring the situation to where it is currently. And then there's the seemingly endless corruption trail between Biden and his family in Ukraine... This USA involvement in war and corruption isn't a Republican or Democrat thing. It's a bipartisan, bureaucratically-controlled death machine that thrives on chaos and destruction. And when it comes to USA historic terrorism and war crimes - how many civilians died due to the Iraq invasion? And, on a current note - Who do you think blew up the Nord Stream pipeline (the largest act of eco-terrorism ever)? Who has condemned the use of "cluster ammunitions" as war crimes if Russia used them, but has not only ignored Ukraine's use of them against civilian populations (see Eva Bartlett's interviews with Donbas civilians who are the victims of the petal/butterfly mines that Ukraine rained down on civilian centers) but has just approved their use and is sending them to Ukraine. It's a war crime if someone else does it, but not a war crime if the USA does it? As for Russian war crimes: I have no doubt, it being war, that soldiers are committing war crimes on both sides of this conflict. However, when the examples that get used as more "evidence" of Russia's brutality are things like: 1) The train station attack last year that suddenly got buried in the news when commentators pointed out that the serial numbers on the weapon that hit the train station could be traced to weaponry that the Ukrainian military uses. 2) The missile that landed in Poland and killed at least one person and had Zelensky screaming for NATO to attack Russia in response, only for it to be shown that the missile originated in Ukraine 3) And, of course Bucha... the massacre that many people still seem confident about pinning on Russia, despite the incident not being independently investigated, despite the fact that, although there had been significant filming of the "triumphant" return of the Ukrainian military to the town, the bodies in question didn't show up on videos until three days after the Russian forces had withdrawn. Despite multiple witnesses testifying that the bodies were staged. Despite strong evidence that the bodies had, indeed, been brought from elsewhere, considering it had been raining and muddy and their clothes didn't reflect that. Despite the dead wearing white armbands that seemed to signify that they were Russian sympathizers. Despite the examples elsewhere of the Ukrainian military's attitude toward civilians who had shown sympathy to Russia - even considering receiving humanitarian aid collusion with the enemy and an offense punishable by imprisonment or worse. So, I can't say I have any confidence in the people screaming with "undeniable certainty" that Bucha is an example of a Russian war crime. And when these are the kinds of "evidences" brought out, (among many others past and present that are skewed with the same biases and even demonstrable lies instead of objective analysis) it makes the entire case against Russia difficult to take with the seriousness such accusations deserve. Like you, I've also done a lot of research on the situation in Ukraine and the geopolitical events leading up to it. In the course of my research, I've heard multiple testimonies of Donbass civilians who say that the Ukrainian military intentionally and frequently fires on their residential areas (places where there are no military targets). I've seen the dead bodies - men, women, and children- and the impact craters and destructive remains of the shelling in their streets, parks, and playgrounds. I've heard dozens upon dozens of testimonies from Mariupol residents who talked about the Azov battalion not allowing residents to evacuate along the humanitarian corridors Russia had opened. About Azov shooting people who tried to evacuate. Of forcing civilians into the basements of buildings and then setting up their bases on top, in order to force the Russian military to fire on them. Of the soldiers even turning their tanks and firing on the residential buildings. In the "fog of war" where we know people are lying, it's difficult to know who to trust. So, you're obviously under no obligation to trust the veracity or integrity of any of these witnesses or analyzers, journalists, or commentators, but since the Western press and platforms such as KZfaq actively censor and often even remove their testimonies, rather than letting people easily find and freely hear the viewpoints and experiences of people from many sides of this situation and making up their own mind, I feel it's important to say something here in response to your confidence about who is committing the worst war crimes in Ukraine at the moment - Both as a reply to you and for anyone who happens to be reading these comments. I'm sure plenty of people will agree with your views and I won't go beyond this current comment to try to convince anyone otherwise. I apologize to you and anyone else reading this comment that I don't have time to properly edit it or to search for and provide links for you to review the statements I've made. But for anyone interested in hearing other views and testimonies, you might be interested in starting with (at least while their content is available here on KZfaq, most of them are frequently censored): Brian Berletic of the New Atlas, Eva Bartlett, Patrick Lancaster, Graham Phillips, and John Mark Dougan And regardless, I hope we can all agree to disagree as we continue to search for the truth and hope and pray for a peaceful resolution and end to this conflict.
