Sergey Radchenko is the Wilson E. Schmidt Distinguished Professor, at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He is an expert in the history of the Cold War, nuclear history, and on Russian and Chinese foreign and security policies. In this interview with Iain Martin he’ll discuss the ‘long game’ with Russia, asking how the West can facilitate Russia’s transition from an aggressive autocracy to a peaceful, or even docile, democracy.
The British journalist Iain Martin interviews ten of the speakers at the 2022 Engelsberg seminar, which had the theme “Liberty”. The topics of the interviews range from how China and Russia affect the freedom we have long taken for granted to the meaning of freedom for writers.
The interviews were recorded at the Engelbergs ironworks in June 2022
