Joe-'s talent level: incredible. Fame level: non- existent. This is everything that's wrong with the entertainment industry. True talent is overshadowed by over-produced garbage.

I guess my question is, did Sergio hire him to sing or be a "frontman." Not being condescending at all, I just know it's Sergio's show so maybe he doesn't want Joe to be too flashy?

I think everyone commenting on here agrees that John Pizzoulo was the secret sauce in addition to the Sergio melody line hooks to making this tune so much fun to listen to. John has a great voice, great inflections, and he sells the emotional element quite well. Did this man have a vocal career of any kind as a solo? I can't believe he couldn't sell some records.

I'd eat nails and kiss tammy faye baker to have this guy's voice. What a gift. I have Joe's compilation cd of his Sergio and solo stuff and its as good as advertised> what a great talent. I wish Sergio had about 5 more hits with Joe so he's be remembered in history as the superstar vocalist he is.

Heard this on 80s on 8 today and the melody sounded familiar...Looked up song and realized it's Sergio Mendes featuring Joe Pizzulo! I use to listen to this on the radio when I was a young kid, 3 years old in 1983.

How did this song only peak at #29 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in the Summer 1984? It was way better than others crap that peaked in the Top 10 in July and August 1984.

No se puede creer lo bien que cantaba Joe en vivo. Lo cierto es que hasta el día de hoy mantiene su voz en perfecta condición (cantante profesional, nada más que agregar). Qué gran banda se armó Sergio Mendes en esa época. Todos músicos de excelencia.

Used to hear this song on the way to work on an AM station a few years back. They quit playing it and the melody was in my head for the last 4 years, but I had the lyrics completely wrong. Heard it tonight and now I know! Great song, never knew it was Sergio Mendez. Completely different from the Brazil 66 days, but both were great!

...Man, Joe was REALLY gettin' into it at the end! ...It almost looks as if he sung an extra chorus, and forgot to end (4:05) ...THEN, almost did it again, until the abrupt STOP! (4:21) ...damn, I should bought that CD of his, when it was still on Ebay!
