if you want a white background: set video clip to lighten instead of darken and set the text to black (for white background you need a solid color from the generator tab)

I have most of the work done for my channel in Spanish, I just have to re-record with Davinci in English, correct the script in English and edit. All this I can do in 1 day. In the future it will be 1-2 tutorials per month.

Thanks for the tut here. I have a question. I love to use crop-bars and when applying the crop-bars and include this vid inside text the crop-bars turn from black to white during the transition of the letters. I assume this is due to the color of the text is white. Do you know a way to avoid this?

I hope it works for your videos.😀 👇Here's another way to do it to be able to put a background on the black background: 1- Place the video above and the text below in the timeline. 2-Change the composition mode of the video to Foreground. 3-Change the composition mode of the text to Alpha . Now you can put a background under the text.

What if you have an already color corrected video which you cut as part of this process and changing the composite mode to darken changes the overall color of that video clip, so when it finally transitions to the 2nd 1/2 of that video the coloring is different...?

5:00 im pretty sure you can make an instant keyframe to change from darken to normal but you can do whatever

Hi PoggersFloppa! No, you can't keyframe the opacity mode of a clip, but even if you could, it would be exactly the same, it wouldn't be easier or faster to do with keyframes, I don't see any advantage to it.

Thanks for sharing! Clear and concise step-by-step guide. Just subscribed! Quick question, why are the text edges so pixelate (blurred)? Is there a way to fix that? FYI, I did a zoom in instead of a zoom out, ie. the shot ends with the text with the moving background and eventually the text fading out to white.
