Cultarally, I live in a small religious sect that unmarried young women are refered to "girls." I make a councouis(sp?) to call them young women or women, despite their marital status. So for me it is just weird that grown women are refered to girls.

The way these companies operate, the up line always acts as if they own you. Since so much of their financial situation is dependent on those below them, they tend to berate and demand everything from those below. They also view it very much like the down line is BELOW them.

Those credit repair services need to be exposed too. I signed up for one and they took payments from me saying they were building up an account so they could go to the credit card company and make offers to them to settle my accounts. I found out I could do that myself and lost a ton of money to them.

Most of those companies set up consumer proposals with the credit companies to give you a chance to pay the debt down without having to settle. Because that’s better for your credit than a settlement. I’m sure some credit repair companies are scammy, but some are legitimate and really help people..

This lady is such a clear example of the dangers of toxic positivity because not only does seeing everything as a blessing make it so you can't see the red flags but only allowing yourself to acknowledge what you consider to be positive means you, I guess ignore anything you don't like, even if it's real and staring you in the face. So she's been sued by the ftc but seems to be pretending that didn't happen, because that didn't "pour into her" I guess and now, who knows, she might end up in jail or something. This is insane.

I’ve been watching anti-mlm content for about 2 years now here on YT. Only just now do my ears hear how sketchy the phrase “compensation plan” really is. So vague, so idealistic. It’s a plan and never a given (unless you’re being actively recruited by a hun).

Forgiven me if I’m wrong, but these women keep saying, “we can’t say the number🤪”, then making vague income claims. I think the law says the opposite? You can give the exact number you were paid, but you can’t claim the your MLM pays “the best”, or that your making “way more” than other companies.

I think maybe the policy of the mlm is that you can't share your income individually. There's protection federally to share wage info, though. The income claims might be that "I made this much, and you can too!" Which would be unethical

This 50% commission for everyone concerns me... how "good" are their products if they have to factor in paying out that much in commissions (the 50% plus whatever the uplines make). Whar percentage of the product are vitamins/minerals/nutrients versus filler?? There is no entity (like the FDA) that regulates the quality of these products. I see where potential reps would be incredibly drawn to a 50% commission, but like I said, this raises big red flags for me about the actual products. We know it isn't about the products though with most (if not all) MLMs.... it's about a rigged & calculated system to make exorbitant amounts of money for a fractional amount of people.

my friend just lost her job and somehow she found Monat or they found her i dont know. But the fact is she spent half of her usual income to purchase their start pack and to have some products to use and to show her clients but after few weeks no one from her friends and family was interested in buying such expesive shampoos... she just threw her money to the big black hole without any hope for future income... i was so angry she didn't say a word before she starter this shit but it was too late... its just crazy how they make money from people who just want to make any money at all

I have a friend who is a serial MLM'er (she is on at least her 3rd-4th) and this is the one she's currently in!!! She got a ton of people in our church to join her mlm's over the years. Luckily, her following has stayed small so she's not doing the scamming on a massive scale. But if I post anti-mlm content, she is always in my mind, hoping she sees it!

Serial MLMers scare me because… how many times can you make the same mistake? Or to the layman do they genuinely believe each MLM is truly different from the last. Or do they know the initial jump to a new place will at the beginning being them income and a bunch of ranks, and when it fizzles it’s on to the next? It’s just all bad no matter how you slice it.

Question, because I've never thought about this but I'm curious. The chick on top said "We get a (something) bonus. I can't say what it is but it's very generous." I'm assuming she "can't say" because she thinks it'd be considered an income claim but is going over the income disclosure statement a claim? I mean, isn't an income claim saying "I make x amount of money each month" but not just stating what's on the statement?
