For anyone who may be wondering about the infamous aubergine task, Alex himself has confirmed that this was an unaired task that was only given to the boys team. In it, Chris had to literally put an aubergine in Ardal's mouth to get it across the garden, and apparently they did well together according to him. What ended up happening though is that they scrapped the task before giving it to the girls because they hadn't thought about the way the task could be interpreted (as aubergines are widely considered phallic in nature), though personally I think in the context of the boys' song (largely Ardal's contributions) it can still be interpreted in...interesting ways! The funny thing is that because they didn't want the girls to do it, they never even brought it up - Sophie even confirmed on the podcast that she had no idea what Chris and Ardal were talking about. So both teams were technically telling the truth about doing that task or not, it was Alex that decided to mess with them instead, lol.

Out of all seasons I couldn't finish just one - the 10th. The guys there just didn't deliver it for me. Especially that dude with the beard (sorry for not remembering his name) who looks like he's 70 years old Santa while he's actually around 50. I was quite pissed anytime he in particular had to speak or do anything. But also the rest of the cast didn't make me sympathise with them enough to carry on despite that one. 12th season had a very warm vibe, but the contestants were older, and I couldn't find somebody of more or less my age so it felt a bit more distant. This 13th is very good, everybody is a character and a nice person. Fantastic work.

@Gabby B - In fact, they’re both correct! The conventions for naming chemicals allow for a variety of names, so often which name you use will depend on when and where you went to school. 📜 Here’s a quote from a highly-cited paper, "Bending models of DNA: what they can and cannot do," by Vladimir B. Tief, published in _Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology_ in 2018; I’ll highlight the relevant part: “The unique structure of *_deoxynucleic acid (DNA),_* characterized by its helical nature and sequence-specific interactions with proteins, ensures that genomic information is both faithfully maintained and efficiently accessed.” And please note, _Nature Reviews Molecular Cell Biology_ has a high impact factor, and is among the top journals in the field of molecular and cell biology … so if “deoxynucleic acid” is good enough for *them,* it is also *certainly* good enough for _Taskmaster!_ I hope the above helps! :-)

@@danopticon I think that's an error in that paper, not a valid alternate form, but at least she's in good company. (The name comes from the sugar in the DNA backbone, which is deoxyribose, not deoxose.)

What a fantastic series! I had never heard of any of them prior to this and they made for an incredible cast. None of them stood out by overshadowing any one of the others but they all worked together harmoniously. Greg Davies talks a lot about quotes and the funniest one to me was "don't do it sister queen" lmao

I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE WINNER this ending has been the most wholesome I've ever experienced 😭 sophie deserved this win so much especially after being kind despite being funny daring unpredictable and so smart. I love her bond with judy so much true sister queens 👸👸 I'd have been ok with chris winning too! he was always working hard and so wholesome. In a way I'm glad judy is last because still holding out hope for a losers of losers (though she's technically won that already with her points). Ardle was an amazing cast member as well and he's who I'll miss seeing the most. Ohmygod also the ending with the cast dance circle is so adorable.

Thank you for having the decency to put the spoiler below the "show more" button. Too many morons just inconsiderately put spoilers right up front, or even go back to episode one to leave comments about the series winner. It's nice to see somebody caring about others for a change.

Omg i love this season so much. Chris's energy has been sky high since the start and he is so happy for others. Judy spouting nonsense but making everyone care for her. Bridget being the funniest with her connection to tm personally. Ardal with his sneaky comments on everyones tasks. And sophie, who i didn't think i would like at first but now love, taking the crown. I wished this season kept going forever or they bring these guys back .
