Yep I have 2070/9900k and to get a decent framerate I have to have it on medium/low 1080p 😭. For comparison I just ran Hogwarts legacy (much more visually impressive and detailed) at 4k high and ran perfectly fine as most games do. Devs need to optimise it asap because the game itself is great.

Not the same. Beath of the wild runs perfectly on the switch. Have you seen a third-party game with a similar game size run the same on switch? Don't compare first-party games with third parties who don't have the resources Microsoft has.

It's optimization. Devs are trying to blame the series S for poor performance and saying that it's holding this generation back but they are literally just doing that to not have to properly optimize their games. That's why newer games are almost requiring you to buy a near $1000 GPU just to have decent graphical fidelity

That’s just not true. It has a weaker GPU (but better CPU) than even an Xbox One X (not series X). Most games look better on Xbox One X than Series S.

You can't say it's not optimization because while the One X was theoretically capable of 4k, it did so at a large fps hit. Just because the Series S has a slightly weaker GPU doesn't mean it's incapable of running games, if devs would actually spend the time to optimize their games, the series S would be consistently getting 60-120fps in modern titles at 1080p, yet for some reason even the higher end Series X and PS5 struggle to run these games at 30, and they definitely have a significantly better GPU

Series S can run some pretty demanding games rather well though, like Space Engineers, Microsoft Flight Simulator, MWIII at 120fps, GTA V, and Crysis Remastered Trilogy. Sometimes it drops from 120fps to 90 on games like MWIII, but the games still look pretty good. Starfield also, which despite people’s opinion’s on it, the Series S version runs almost identical to the Series X version, even load times. Pretty sure they just didn’t optimize this very well.

Set your resolution to the native bios because the upscale tends to cause ghosting and blur. Hope that helps

Don't say that, the PsBots don't like it when you say that the little box can run games quite decently. I have a Series S and I love it honestly, throw in gamepass and it's a match made in heaven. Haven't gotten a series x because I can't find any here in Mexico, Ps5 is available but it got the price hike, series s is available everywhere, and in all honesty I'll probably wait for a mid gen refresh and see what they whip out. Changed from PS to Xbox and I'll stay with Xbox for now at least haven't missed my Ps at all, and why would I gamepass is great no way am I paying 70 bucks for any game in general and less with the poor optimization that's unacceptable. Imagine paying that cash for a game like Forspoken which was bad, Spiderman Miles Morales a 10 hour game, don't even get me started on Gran Turismo, while on XGP you can try any game out, if you don't like it try another. Imo only games on ps5 that are worth the pricetag are GoW and maybe Horizon.

It’s really mind blowing to me that these companies are abandoning older generations console players not cause of tech limitations but because of laziness to optimize the games…. I was scared this was going to happen during Ps2 and Xbox 360 etc but no it’s never happened not until recently… one huge example is fallout 4 it’s unplayable in downtown Boston on series S and vanilla Xbox the game literally crashes every 5 sec and no one is talking about it… the game is literally broken…. I really can’t believe this it’s borderline got me wanting to quit everything but Nintendo games and from soft games.

I bought the Xbox Series S in April, 2021. It’s been a delight playing on it. Though after two years with it, I have started to notice that the Series X is much better, by a lot. 4 teraflops Vs 12. True 4K. 1TB of storage. And better HDMI output. And importantly, a disk drive: blu-ray if I’m correct. I have disk games that you cannot get digitally anymore. And I love to watch DVD’s because no scenes can be removed from them. So I bought the Series X earlier. It’s arriving tomorrow.

Ran flawless on my Series S. And considering it’s not a the optimization isn’t that great on the game it doesn’t look that far different from the Series X either which I also have.
