Also wouldn’t that get them use to eating there kids alive bc that is what I found online when I read the info lol Update: I feed my chickens crushed egg shell and they didn’t eat it at all. At first, they ate a little bit of it the just left it. I had to fix it in with their food for them to eat it. But I didn’t give them eggs yet. I recommend taking the heat lamp off of Pickle's cage. Rabbits over heat EXTREMELY easily. They actually do really well in the cold. I breed and show Jersey Wooly Rabbits. Complications are most common during hot months and they typically do amazingly during winter. As long as they are out of the wind and have hay and warm water.

‼️Please don’t breed Pickles unless you want to keep all the babies. There are way too many rabbits at shelters that need homes. I know this is just one little comment that will get lost in a sea of other comments, but if it’s you happen to see it please consider doing some research. There is a lot of confusion on if they will eat the baby rabbits. The breed of rabbits that they own are lionhead rabbits which are not a meat breed. Lionheads are a pet breed so they are not meant to be eaten. It is also not practical to raise loinhed rabbits to eat. They are one of the smartest breeds of rabbits. If they were going to breed rabbits to eat they would pick a larger meatier breed. They have also said in past videos that their rabbits are just pets.

if he breeds the rabbits they will probably be used for meat rabbits. thus not contributing to pet rabbit population. it would be a great way to reduce pet rabbit population if we just ate them. just so you know, i have 2 pet house rabbits, one free roam the other in my bathroom. bathroom bun is fixed and free roam bun is not because of a heart murmur. they eat hay and science select pellets and get oxbow treats.

Hi from Australia ~ years ago I kept emus and as you are aware they are very curious / nosey little so and so's . If you want to give them something to do other than pace the fence line , throw some large balls in there, also things that make a noise when moved eg: milk crate with tin cans in it , you can even hang things like that up in the centre of the pen around their chest height so they can peck at it . A lot of large dog toys also work hung up. I always try to put myself in my animals shoes / paws/ claws and think how would I like to be in a barron pen all day with nothing to do....give it a go regards Yvonne.

In the winter time they got extra straw and wind stops around the cages. Only heating you need is for the water and they will still eat some snow if the can. Keep em dry, out of the wind, hydrated and feed - they will be fine.

Animal Science senior in university here 👋🏼 For many mammals, heat stress is far more dangerous than cold stress. Rabbits don’t need supplemental heat (even in temps below freezing) so long as they have had time to grow in their winter coat and are kept in a dry and draft-free shelter. They do not do well in temps above 75F. Now you’re in a bit of a pickle because the rabbit is acclimated to the supplemental heat. You will have to slowly raise the lamp to “wean” the rabbit off it. Luckily it’s spring, so it should be doable. If it were winter, it would be even more risky because it could affect the integrity of the rabbit’s winter coat. Also, please consider upgrading that cage. From a welfare standpoint, rabbits should have 25+ sq ft of space. Please consider upgrading your cage(s) to be AT LEAST 3x the size they are now. They still won’t be the ideal size, but it will be quite an improvement.

I really enjoy hearing from our college kids about the proper ways of raising animals. They are so knowledgeable. My future daughter in law went to school to study biology. Got all A's and B's and wants to work for the conservation district. Only problem is she got A's and B's from teachers who like her have never spent time in the field with animals, plants, and nature. Let alone talk to old farmers and old naturalists, about life on the planet and how systems interact. I sat in a sixth grade class and heard a teacher teach an out right lie to her students because that's what was taught to her. If you want to tell me sometime about rabbit cages don't through your senior it kickamacoo university. Tell me about the time at nine as you led the 1 ton horse pulling a plow while your father held the plow the horse stepped on your foot. (More than once.) Loaded a wagon of speltz or wheat at 12, threshed it out bagged it and stored it. Worked a field at 15 to plant a crop of buckwheat and found the correct dates to grow it for a crop. Not stand in the path of a cropdusting plane with your 7 year old daughter as the drift floats over you because you've been taught that its not dangerous when a small child goes to the hospital on the brink of death after eater delicious corn on the cob only to find that her body is infected with 30 different poisons that were used to give our beautiful produce the near perfect look. Or when the 65 year old farmer experiments with turning his field and finds out that the turned vegetation builds healthy fungus and bacteria in the soil beneficial to his crop and says why didnt they ever tell us this in college. They didn't know cause they hadn't been there. The answer is the all mighty $. When you can answer all the millions of logical question then I'll listen to you "a rabbit needs 25+ sq. feet of space." Until then find a way to leave NO FOOTPRINT upon the face of this earth as I an working to accomplish and have just about achieved. To start, STOP POLLUTING our planet with your shxt. If you have questions for me feel free to ask.

Ronald Bequeath If I’ve decoded your stream of consciousness accurately, I think your underlying argument is that real-world experience supersedes the information taught in academia. To some degree, I do indeed agree with you; however, I personally have and embrace both. I’m actually a veterinary assistant at an exotic clinic (rabbits are one of our most-seen species), former research analyst who worked primarily on the social and psychological implications of swine housing density in industrial systems (hense my aforementioned suggestions for the space requirements of rabbits), and have had several pet rabbits over the years. So though I will grant that personal experience has aided me in my decisions and suggestions when it comes to animal husbandry, the knowledge I’ve gained from my university (which actually started as an agricultural college) is not to be disregarded. Science is ever-evolving. There are new developments and discoveries in research everyday that prove some of the ways we used to do things are outdated and/or inaccurate. It’s of the utmost importance to be adaptable to these changes if we want the best for our animals.
@ronaldbequeath2307
@ronaldbequeath2307 4 жыл бұрын
@@BeanSupreme414 you got the message. I could through out my degrees and accomplishments. I live beside a vet assistant and 95% of the time (I could say 100 but I'll give the benifit of doubt) she eventually realizes that what I teach is correct. No offence but you need to get your head out of the books and get a life with animals. I have raised dairy goats for 58 years and have yet to have someone tell me how to truly and correctly raise them, and when I have pointed out situation to the "professionals" as I have on more than one occasion, in the field the answer is always" well you must have a different situation", never well let me research this thought, idea, or situation more. So as will be will be. I still stay with my first premise. Thanks for your response. Conversation closed.

Ronald Bequeath What do you consider “true” and “correct”? And what “professionals” have you consulted? Researchers and DVMs (real professionals) know well there’s never just one explanation or one way to do something. Based on your statements, it’s safe to say at this point that you’re only open to having your own opinions validated and don’t genuinely care to listen and adapt when research says otherwise 🤷🏽‍♀️

They don't do any kind of inspections for any animal keepers in Idaho and boy oh boy has some horrible animal abuse and living conditions come forward. Idaho won't do anything unless there is complaints. Some lady had a "wolf refuge" what was really happening was she was breeding wolf's on purpose to sell and they all lived in a 2 ft wide 5 ft long box in their own feces. All of them were super skinny. A person went to "buy" one with the intention of seeing and proving what she was doing and there were dead pups and the lady didn't care at all. Really sad. The male wolves didn't even get a box. They were chained to poles on cement pads. They had a whole 1 ft chain each. Sores all over their bodies. This woman had social media at one point. I don't know for certain what she called her place but it had moon in the name. When it was exposed, she kept defending her actions on her Facebook page. It was truly unbelievable how she thought she wasn't doing anything wrong.

Well he didnt really forget, he opened up 3 eggs for a reason. If we assume we can see half of the yolk facing up each time he cracks an egg, a 50/50 if you will, it would be a pretty small chance that all 3 were hiding the little circle.

Guineas are the stupidest/meanest birds in the world. It doesnt matter if you have ten birds or one hundred, they will always pick at least one bird to sacrifice each day for predators. One ruffled feather will mark a bird for destruction/death. Craziest thing you will ever see, same race against itself. They are the best at bug/spider/tick control. I'm in a fourplex and use various sizes of Rubbermaid bins as planters. I've grown tomatoes, potatoes, strawberries, peas, yellow and green beans, corn, and watermelon. In hanging planters I've done green onion and cucumber. If you keep fish use some water from the tank to water everything at least once every week. You can mix a teaspoon of cinnamon with 3 cups of water and water everything every 2-3 weeks with it. Ants hate cinnamon. Its a natural pesticide that won't harm you, your family and the environment.

Heyo I’m sorry to inform you, but I highly recommend not breeding that rabbit, and in the future being proactive about the breeder you buy your rabbits from, unfortunately it’s face has an extremely bad deformity that has been known to cause many issues in rabbits(the same with pugs) if you breed I highly suggest getting one without a flat face so it can live a more healthy life. Breeders breed their rabbits like that because many people think it’s “cute”. I know not many people know so I wanted to inform you as I really enjoy your videos and your channel over all, you send an amazing message that people need to hear!

PrenticeBoy1688 ok, so he gave me this article: www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/03/200317175442.htm Basically there is a most likely connection to bats, but no proof for the connection how it evolved and jumped to humans, the basic virus in bats is also not a pandemic The natural evolution is alarming, but not unprecedented and this all will most likely go on a long time , 18month minimum but considering that everyone can reinfect my father thinks about three years even with medication.... any more questions I can only ask later because he is now volunteering in the hospitallabor

@shihalya 4 жыл бұрын
PrenticeBoy1688 so yes, you are correct that scientist found that the Sarscov2 backbone different substantially from those of already known Coronaviruscases and mostly resembles related viruses found in bats and pangolins, but it is not the same...but there where also cases of different coronavirusstrains in camel,civets,armadillos, ferrets, but not yet „normal“ food/meat animals and /or pets....also al those coronavirusstrains only barley resemble the humancoronavirus and just fall in the same family.....

You have beautiful animals and they're so healthy and happy. I think its amazing how you're able to move them around. The kids are so fortunate that they're taught to love animals from birth up. Bamboo is awesome. I agree about the need to make sure you can grow alot of your own food. Our parents raised so much food while we were growing up but we have gotten away from that sadly. We spent summers canning and freezing food. It's now I realize how tirelessly our parents really worked to be prepared.
