it's pretty lame when people try to analyze stuff like this....it is what you see and hear. Eye had a concept with 77 drummers in mind and this is what he did with the idea....any of you folks know 77 drummers that would get together at the same time & help you make your conception a reality?....why does everything have to be based on a "serious composition"? seems pretty "serious" to me or could it be just "FUN"?

I've seen the Boredoms in full on, Pop Tatari noise mode and I've seen them right before they started doing these percussion performances. Both times, Eye was like some crazy shaman who brought me to someplace spiritual. Thank you Boredoms.

Everyone's pointing out Brian Chippendale (4:40) but also there's original Lightning Bolt member Hisham Bharoocha - then drummer for Black Dice (4:01). Also Miggy Littleton from great indie band Ida, later Blood On the Wall and White Magic (2:05). Many more I'm sure.

As a drummer myself this is a beautiful sight to see

@Adoniram1986 it probably has something to do with the fact that 7 is a lucky number and 77 doubles it since it's two sevens. whatever it is i don't think it's any reason to search. i think it was just for the fact of the repeating seven. they did it again on August 8, 2008 calling it 88Boadrum which was the same thing although it was 88 drummers playing an 88 minute composition.

if you really listen, its the beats they aren't playing that make it cool.

@Adoniram1986 77Boadrum was a performance on July 27, 2007 at 7:07 PM featuring 77 drummers in New York. the performance was organized by the band Boredoms and the occasion was to mark a significant celestial event (don't remember what it was). but my question to you is why does this need to be special? what? 77 drummers can just preform whenever they want?
