Serj was awarded the Armenian Prime Minister's medal for his contributions to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and the advancement of music, in 2011... One of the best voices Ive heard since Ronnie James Dio. 'rip' Ronnie I miss you sooo much...

Man you can tell this guy just loves music! You can see it when he performs....whether it's metal or classical back up band...he just is completely mesmerized in his songs. What an incredible artist!

Serj Tankian was the first artist to give a voice to how I felt inside as a child. I could sense that things were wrong, but couldn't put it to words. The first song I ever heard by them, believe it or not, was "This cocaine makes me feel like I'm on this song" The lyrics "theres nothing wrong with me, theres something wrong with you" helped validate my growing distrust of the establishment. Thank you Serj for boldly singing the words I couldn't find as a child, your voice has changed my life for the better.

Serj, along with the res of SoaD are gods among musicians. the range of things that they can do with music never ceases to amaze me, and combine that with the brilliant and subtley biting lyrics and amazing political messages, and you have beautiful music, pure genious.
