I praise God that I was directed to this pastor through the KZfaq channel Jason A! I have been a Christian since I was at least 6 years old. Although, I never stopped believing, I definitely fell away. My youngest child I call blessed. Everyone likes him. Athletic, intelligent, got into almost every college he applied to (11), has traveled the world, at 27 (last wk), has a great career. He has never faced true adversity. My daughter, 32, was always difficult. Teachers didn’t like her, had a tough time making friends. She was an incredible athlete and tested gifted as a child, yet barely made it through high school. She became an opiate user in college that led to heroin addiction. She has been on methadone for 7 years. That did not make me completely give my life to God. She told me three years ago that she was gay. As I sought answers, how I, as a Christian (I always saw myself as a Christian) should deal with this situation, I began to truly seek God. I repented in sobs for things that “I” had done. Not with her but in my own life. I began to have a true relationship with Jesus, because of this I fought battles of night paralysis. And I knew that Satan was having a battle over me, and was losing. Praise Jesus! He is so much more powerful. Listening to your sermon, I know that God used my grief, my mourning (which is how I referred to this period-mourning the loss of a husband for my daughter, and grandchildren, my dreams for her) as a way to reach me. And I know he is going to use her in ways we cannot begin to understand. I ask myself now, which of my children are going to know the blessing that come from adversity? I pray that they both come to know the love of Jesus, quickly. And that you would pray with me for this. Thank you.
