At one time, it seemed many Simplex fire alarm systems installed in schools in eastern Massachusetts in the 1970s and 1980s often went with these pull stations. My first elementary school did so (built in 1974 with a Simplex 4208 system).

The Florence Mall in Kentucky Has Break Glass Pull Stations. They Have a Cover and are Connected to a System of Simplex Strobe Plates with 4903s, Gentex Commander 2s, Gentex SHGs/GMSs, Truealerts, and 4903 Horn Strobes.

those pull stations are cool, the newer break glass style is not as well put together but it's still cool.

Yeah, I especially like how the frame on the 4251 break-glass pulls flips downward when the glass is smashed, making it easier to access the lever without the hammer or any broken glass shards getting in the way.

Very cool pull station, however, I wouldn’t recommend breaking that glass piece. That is original glass meaning that pull station has probably never been pulled. You can tell because it has the words “pull handle down”, meaning this is a rare piece of glass. Because of this I would just recommend buying new glass straight from simplex to break or improvising with something else.

Yep; my 4251-30 didn't come with any glass but I got some of the newer Simplex glass panes. Besides, I've seen plenty of 4251-30s "in the field" with those newer glass panes.

Mostly the 2099-4099 versions do not have the red glass frame. And it’s harder to pull.

Hey there SER safety. I love the simplex 4251-30 with the duel action break glass compartment. I saw simplex 4251-20's in my elem school. Even my middle school. But in the one I'm in currently I see a FIX ms2 not duel action but has the same mechanism as the duel action version. Usually the single action version has the same mechanism as the Notifyer/FireLite BG8. But why, why did they discontinue the simplex 4251-20? That pull station was a great pull station. For some odd reason, I'm seeing a lot of FireLite bg12L's, the ones that take hex keys. Well i have seen the Gamewell century. And a EST 270spo. Something Looked odd when me and my family went to see top gun maverick. I saw a lot of EST genesis low frequency sounders. Aren't they ment for sleeping areas? Btw when you make another ADT Unimode 10ud system test. Try and feature the red version of the System sensor low frequency sounder if you ever get one.

Update. In the middle school I go to, the FCI Ms-6's in my school are just like the single action ones that are like the FireLite/Notifier BG-8, Apparently I looked at the pull station the wrong way. It looked like the keyhole was at the bottom left like the duel action one. Also we do have an Edwards 270-Spo in my middle school. Same with the standerd FireLite/Notifier BG-12. Tho we mostly have FCI Ms-6's. For alarms, we have Wheelock AS' s not much. We also have the Wheelock alarm that was in the S.E.R system test 3 on S.E.R safety. I don't know the model but we have most of those in Strobe Only's and Horn/Strobes. I forgot to mention we have 1 Wheelock NS I think. 1 New Version Wheelock MT and a bunch of older Wheelock MT's. I forgot to mention also we have System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance P2R's in the ceiling mount version. The 8th grade area that has fire alarms are all being coded to continuous. I don't know about the NS or the AS. Or the Newer MT also the 7th grade area. The 6th grade area with the older MT'S they are being coded to Code 3. I never had a fire drill in the gym. But the SpectrAlert's are there and they are so loud from like half a quarter mile you can hear them perfectly fine. They are also set to Code 3. So that's my whole update. Please don't break the Original GLASS EVER! Keep it! If you want to break glass, use the common one. to get the original glass out remove the screws on the top of the front cover and remove the silver piece. the door pins will release and the glass will fall out.
