Interesting....It looks like the “key operated only pulls” still have handles, but are covered by the plastic. That’s probably why one of them has two holes, becuase someone removed the plate.

The 4251-21 was made for at the end of the loop of pull stations on a circuit, it had an EOL resistor (I think 20 ohm or something similar) crossing the terminals.

The break glass type stations are still made and continue to be in production for both addressable and conventional use. I have a 2099 model (which I got new) and a 4251-30 which was broken and I couldn’t use it (that one I got from an old abandoned school from a demolition company before it was torn down).

This one has got to be my favorite video mainly because many people think there's 1-3 variants of the Simplex T bar but in reality there's a lot of variations.

Some 299- have a light so when you pull it the light next to the T bar lights up red. I think you should get one.

for the one with holes, it is actually a key operated one without the key operated panel, if you remove the key operated panel it turns back into a regular pull station, so thats why.

2:31 that 2099-9762 I believe is an updated version of the 4251-2k. The reason I’m guessing that’s the case is because the 4251-2k with the black cover has screws in the same place for the cover to be put. Those covers do come detached when they come new in box, your 9762 must’ve come without one.

I bet the pull that has those two holes is that it used to be a key operated if u look closely at 7:50 or on the door it still has the handle

The Simplex t bar pull station is an example of a design that is tried and true. It has changed very little, if at all since 1973. Just be sure you don't place a chair under a break glass variant!

I'm also surprised you don't have one of the early Simplex T-bar pulls yet; the ones that used a metal lever with no arrow in the center. I saw that kind at an elementary school built in 1971 that presumably had an old Simplex 4208 system; the alarms were Simplex 4041 horns on 4050-80 light plates.

U had one with 2holes and the key operated only bar has 2 screws where the plate is hold on to it and when u un screw those screws u find the t bar lever and 2 holes

Those 2 holes are for the “key operated only” pull stations, if you take it off, it’s a regular T-Bar with the holes, also that looks like a replacement key in that -21, I have a replaced key in my 4251-20

I can actually tell a difference from the first generation 2099 and the current version. The 1st generation’s logo has a larger hourglass logo. The second generation’s logo has an hourglass logo the same size as the lettering and the current 2099’s use the current Handel gothic font simplex logo.
