Enhance is a new framework that addresses this by allowing you build front-end web applications with common patterns like file-based routing and components, but where the components are pure HTML and can be fully rendered on the server. Alternatively you can render to the declarative shadow DOM. Also, when JavaScript is available, you can hook shadow DOM form elements into the light DOM form via ElementInternals. So, you’re not forced to circumvent these shadow DOM issues by avoiding the shadow DOM per se. There’s definitely more work though, but that’s a price _some_ might be willing to pay for the encapsulation (e.g. if you’re building a library or need to have this component used on third party or vendor sites).
