UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the most prestigious exams in the country. Because of this, there is a lot of competition in this exam. Hence, your UPSC preparation should be strategic, informed and well planned.
Your UPSC preparation should not be based on blind adherence to any program. Rather you should give a thought about how your are preparing. The best way to go forward is to study the blogs and tips given by previous year toppers about how to go about UPSC CSE, and then make your UPSC preparation strategy accordingly.
Doing static subjects like polity, economy, environment, geography and history for your UPSC preparation is a solid bet to increase your chances of clearing this exam. But this must all be supplemented by current affairs for best effect.
There's no shortcut to success.

Abhijeet Sir, I have a question for you. According to you, in CSE 2020 total there were 761 ranks out of which 93 people are removed due to 1) medical unfit 2) issues with education 3) reservation. What do you meaning ' issues with educational'. Can you explain? I don't understand. Please reply soon. And one more, that I am deaf who appearing CSE exam next year.

@@prodig1389 Sir 1 question- My 10th and 12th result certificate has full name in marksheet(like- middle name that is my father's name). But in engineering graduate degree certificate it is mentioned as only my name and not the middle name( that is father's name). So should I worry about it or not? Even I asked my friend(same college). he has same issue too.

Sir if SC\ST rank is in general category list, (in ria dabi case). Does the general category seats reduces becoz of entry of other category students in general list?

Yes. But the condition is that the person has qualified every stage in General along with the cadre preference. It is not the case with Ria Dabi though.

@@AK-bf4jy It is obvious that if someone has prepared well than the person may be qualified for the general category. But it creates disadvantage to generals ryt (seat reduction).So I don't get the concept of adding a person to Gen. Even though the person has got good rank than the person shud be allotted as per their reservation category and not to be added in gen.

@@genesiscricketspot.1mviews557 I undsrstand but this is how vertical reservation works. On the contrary they do the otherwise with disabled candidates, which you suggested. That is, even if someone secures the 1st rank they will place that person in the disabled seats only. Because of this a blind OBC candudate at 280 something was allotted IRS and ranks 290's in OBC got IAS.

Thanks for informing us about things no other channel talks about. I'm confused about the EWS certificate. For appearing under the EWS category in UPSC 2022 I'd need a certificate for that year so would I need to get a new certificate made at the time of service allocation since that will (most likely) happen in the next financial year?

So far as I know, EWS certificate is valid for 1 year so you would need a certificate for the year you're appearing in.

As per upsc faq its written one year before i.e if you are preparing for 2022 u need it of financial year 2020-2021.

@@UPSCprepIAS As per my knowledge,EWS certificate is valid for one year and it should of the year that mentioned in the notification which generally is the previous financial year of the ongoing financial year.I know this bcz i am also appearing UPSC ESE 2022 from the ews category.

Sir i want to know that if upsc pre is in june month but i'll get 21 same year but after notification date ends... Am i eligible then for applying? Or i should have to be 21 during application form

Sir, I'm from west bengal. I watched your upsc cadre allocation videos. It made me clear about some aspects of recruiting the vacancies of different posts. In the year 2019, west bengal PSC conducted a clerkship exam of three posts namely secretariat, directorate and regional but while doing service allocation, the commission filled up a large number of reserved vacancies by the reserved candidates of higher ranks from the unreserved quota to provide them higher choices and they didn't maintain any vacant seats to retrive the deprived candidates of reserved quota of lower ranks. Thus approximately 450+ candidates who were in the vacancy position in the reserved quota couldn't get their placements. Unreserved vacancies were 2971 but according to this post preference rule near about 3450+ candidates of unreserved category got the job which means the percentage violation occurs here. How do you see the matter sir? Please reply. What should we do? Whether we should take legal actions or the commission were right in this case? Please inform sir. Thank you.

@@adamjamir2212 bhai woh md means multiple disability ki vajah se mila hai. Obc candidates gets ias normally (without disability) around 280-290. Tough it might change every year but this is what i got on KZfaq.

Ria Dabi's rank (15) doesn't have a dollar, why? Srija (Rank 20) has a dollar. Why couldn't Ria be listed as unreserved?

Just a combination of preferences and placement. Ria didn't have a $ sign because she might be getting her preferred cadre due to her reservation but at the same time Rank 45, Anil Basak (S.C.$), is being treated as an unreserved candidate. Complicated rules of allocation.

After getting higher rank. It depends on the reserved candidate whether he/she wants to take reserved seat or unreserved seat. Ria dabi opted for reserved seat because her prelims score was just 77. This might not be the case for other toppers.

Sir one doubt regarding service allocation for reservation claiming candidate. According to interpretation of "$" sign Rank 15 being SC candidate is without $ sign And service allocation is IAS but Rank 29 & Rank 45 both being SC candidate have got IAS from unreserved seat as their rank are with $ sign. HOW IT'S POSSIBLE ? WHAT MAY BE THE REASON ?

If you have availed the benefits of reservation at any stage in the exam you will be deemed to have used your reservation privileges.
