I spent 10 years in this unit and 9 of those years were in 1st flight Charlie 1-160th DAPs. By far the most rewarding 9 years of my life! Without a doubt the hardest job in US Army Aviation! I would’ve stayed longer if I could’ve; I miss it everyday! Thank you for representing us DAP Guys well, Brother! DAPs will forever Rule!

Legendary Night Stalker pilot Cliff Wolcott, who lost his life in Mogadishu in 1993, was one of the guys who helped develop the DAP system

I'm enlisting in as 15T, then applying to WOFT while in the Army, so one day when I'm a seasoned pilot, I can do this. I already fly Cessna's. Want to join the military. Couldn't be a better decision

We always referred to our passengers as customers. It was the opposite of the air force which would refer to passengers as users. Enough said. I was loitering in Iraq while our customers were conducting SSE when an air force 53 said it was late and he had to be home before sunup! I told him we would service his target after which he called for permission to stay out after sunup. Poor aircrew had to spend the night in the closest place after the mission. We flew home after the sun was up and asked forgiveness for it. Hey! We were taking care of the customer.
