The air filter on my newly purchased C3 Picasso seems easier than my previous 07 C4 Picasso,so does the pollen filter! My previous C4 Picasso had a full service history,but it makes you wonder if these items are skipped sometimes,when they are due to be changed,because they're so difficult to get to,mine did seem particularly dirty when I changed them! Can you trust these garages,it makes you think. I have started to use an oil syphon pump now for oil changes,if I do it,as at 79,I find it difficult working on my back underneath a car these days! I have found Citroëns be reliable cars,and I have had one of the first Xsara Picassoes,two C3s,one diesel,one diesel automatic,a C4 Picasso auto diesel,and now a low mileage C3 Picasso automatic petrol. Great videos though! Doug

Are the nuts for the undertray bolts welded? A few of my bolts just spin so cannot remove them to take tray off. Current servicing using oil suction pump but would like to drain through the plug.
@michelod.i.y.52025 жыл бұрын
Through the plug would be best, the bolts on the under-tray are just poorly designed and are susceptible to corrosion. You just have to be a bit forceful with them. There is often a clip on the other side which is supposed to be stationery that spins out. Good luck.

Good video, useful to know someone who had the same problem accessing the oil filter. Did you make a follow up vd for the fuel filter. Many thanks

Thanks, yes I've done the fuel filter, we pull my finger out and get it posted soon.

Going to watch your fuel filter video before having a go! Cheers.

Michelo D.I.Y. Can’t find your fuel filter video.... after releasing the pipes I’m struggling to remove the actual filter.... no clearly visible clips that I can see?
@35t6yutr5 жыл бұрын
Hi, oil filter from the beginning how you start to take out everything before filter , is very important. Thanks
@michelod.i.y.52025 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, with the pipes obstructing the oil filter they just pull a part. There is just one push clip at the starr of the air intake, which have to remove.

Again a good video off you. I have a question: Do you also the gearbox oil ?
@michelod.i.y.52025 жыл бұрын
Gearbox oil I usually like to do about every 5years if you're averaging about 10,000 miles. It's a very straightforward job, I'm maybe doing it on my Toyota soon. Thanks for watching.
@NT-hr3eu5 жыл бұрын
@@michelod.i.y.5202 Do you know where the gear oil top up points are? I've not bothered looking cos my undertray is not currently removable. Might have to cut the try bolts off.
@michelod.i.y.52025 жыл бұрын
@@NT-hr3eu you don't have to remove the under-tray. Take the passenger front wheel off and the it's a bolt you remove from the end of the gear box. I usually fill it until it comes out of the top.

Not sure if you’ll see this 3 years on 😅 but, do you torque each bolt, etc to a specific value? I’ve read the oil filter housing needs to be torqued to 25nm but is it necessary to tighten everything to a specific?
@michelod.i.y.52022 жыл бұрын
For about 15 years I never used a torque wrench, had no issues. Oil filters I never use tools, I do hand tight. Thanks for watching.

How do you replace a waterhose on the citroen c3 picasso please 🙏

The tricky part is just the access above the gearbox, then just 4 bolts

@@diannenoake6805 you'll have forgive me, the last one I did was in 2012 on the citroen. Just remember lots of stuff in the way. Don't worry if you need to take the starter of its just 2 or three bolts, anything to make the access easier

Thanks ,Same crap design as a berlingo, ive drilled a 25mm acess hole in the cheap plastic belly pan to drop sump plug out of to save the terrible hassle of removing it ,,shocking design even the oil and fuel filters access is crap
@dougsinnott13 жыл бұрын
It's not "crap design",my Vauxhall was exactly the same! Bottom line modern cars aren't designed for DIY mechanics,and they all have sump plates!

All modern cars seem to be difficult Getting these undertrays off,without a pit,is difficult at the best of times. Why don't they give you an access point just for the drain plug? My last car,a Vaughan, I used a suction pump,so much easier!

That should read "Vauxhall"!

They're definitely designing them to discourage d.i.y'rs My Toyota Celica is a bit better with access points on the under tray, probably because it's an older vehicle. Thanks for your support and good luck for any future maintenance you may have

@@michelod.i.y.5202 What's your opinion of the ride on the C3 Picasso? My wife calls it the "boneshaker"! I think it's OK,but it could be because she's developed a back problem,following a knee op. I would welcome your opinion, Doug
@michelod.i.y.52023 жыл бұрын
@@dougsinnott1 my honest opinion is it's an average car, which doesn't mean it bad, just it's very similar to many other vehicles in its class. Keep up with the maintenance and you'll be fine, would rate the deisel above the petrol. Listen out for any strange knocking noises from any suspension components, to ensure you get the best comfort. The only advantage of some other brands in comparison to the c3, is they may hold more of there reschedule valve when it comes to resale or trade in.

To Michaelo, Thanks for your reply,but you didn't give me your view of the C3 Picasso ride! I have been on the forums,and the common view is replacing the factory fitted tyres can improve the ride on our pot holed roads. It did improve my previous C4 Picasso,so I may give it a try,what do you think? I do like the car,and French cars usually are noted for their smooth ride. The C3 Picasso is superior,in my view,to many other contempories,offering plenty of space,a good auto box,and some reliable engines. Doug.
