Paused the video to go read the article, can’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before! It’s absolutely brilliant! Brit Bennett is such and important voice in this world! I read The Vanishing Half a year ago and it’s still very much present in my thoughts. One of my favorite book of all time! Thankyou for that insightful discussion 🫶

Found this book at the Hay Festival in the Service 95 kiosk this past June. This interview uncovers even more layers, via Dua’s insight as an interviewer and the author’s eloquence. I will of course reread it keeping these ideas in mind. Beautiful work!!

Same 😅. I did realize it was on KZfaq until I had finished listening on Spotify. Then KZfaq suggested this interview. She is pretty good at it 👌

Hi Service 95 ! I hope you will read this message it’s just to give you a suggestion for a future Podcast: MIRA MURATI. She doesn't give many interviews and prefers to remain discreet but I think you can manage it. She’s for Albania like Dua and she is an American software engineer and one of the most powerful women in tech, yet not many people know her bc it’s an ultra-male industry with little variety in profiles. As technical director of OpenAI she participates in the development of DALL-E. She is cited as “the creator of ChatGPT” by The Times. I think an interview with her could be very interesting. xx

Any chance that this "Vanishing Half" is somehow related to a mirror image and a certain escape artist in a song that was released on the same day as this interview?

Let me start by saying that all people have “Opinions “ about race … including myself … I have lived long enough to see in America 🇺🇸 that racialism was simply a part of history ,,, yes there was and always will be a form of racism in any country including America 🇺🇸.. but for all intensive purposes it was history ,,, Now I know this will not make some people happy but the real truth never does make some people happy … but the truth is always the best path forward … Now Barrack Obama when he was elected president in 2008 literally revived Racism in America 🇺🇸. Many people may not like what I just wrote but it is in fact the truth … he ran on uniting America 🇺🇸 but all he did was divide the country … looking back on things that happen in are history helps us learn and grow as people and a society..,, but it also exposes “ Truths “ that we as people don’t always like or want to acknowledge… I can literally write about 12 presidents that I have lived through in my life and give positives and negatives about each and every one of them … and I can say of those 12 presidents in my lifetime,, Barrack Obama and Joe Biden was far and away the most controversial Presidents with regards to racism and setting America 🇺🇸back many many years…, Now before anyone start sending me negative or bad messages,, I as a general rule consider all people legally in America 🇺🇸 simply Americans …. What ever country you consider your legal home country is what you are … My ancestors were Native American Indians … so I am considered a person of color by people that look at people in there pigment form … I can quote historical facts of record in the history of America 🇺🇸 and history around the world 🌎… black people were not the first people into slavery.. Slavery has existed in all races of people since the beginning of time … I can go in depth with regards to that statement… Maybe writing ✍️ a modern day book about its history of slavery needs to be done again … I respect this woman’s writings ,, but in order to write about history of a subject ( Slavery & Racism ) you have to write about “ All of it “ …. So many people write about it but don’t want to explain many of the true facts about it … it’s literally written “ one sided “ and that is not the right way to explain history …. These are my opinions and I have no problem with having good and meaningful discussions about true history…. Thank you for taking the time to read my opinion… Andrew

Dua is not a narcistic fraud, she is so down to earth, humble, and lives her life so genuine. I just didn’t like how race and Trump got tied together in this interview, though as a Christian who lives to be a vessel for Jesus of Nazareth I highly respect Dua, she is very talented, stunning, insightful, and has the right to her own opinions and views, I pray Jesus Christ would guide her to his kingdom and many others.
