LOL I actually remember, Oscar was orange in the first season.... I remember when he changed from orange to green......again I aged myself.

Oscar is orange because Oscar was originally orange but then they changed to green.

Oscar was orange for the first season. Then he went on vacation to Swamp Mushy Muddy and came back green. Oscar originally wasnt supposed to be green or orange(they have sketches from 1969 of original Oscar). Oscar was supposed to be Magenta but because the TV back then couldnt handle the color very well he became an Orange Oscar instead.

if i am not mistaken, oscar was originally that color and then they changed him green for the show later. he wasn't meant to be an original cast character, hence the orange color.

back in the very very first season of Sesame Street, Oscar was actually orange and not green...after quite some time living in a trash can and not bathing, enough moss and mould built up on Oscar, he became green!

I like to think when grouches reach a certain age their hair starts falling out and when it grows back it gets more sensitive to dirt and trash and it turns their fur permanently green

In the pilot episode of Sesame Street, Oscar was originally orange. Also Big Bird looked a bit different (not as feathery and fluffy)

Im 25 and I watched sesame street my favorite character was and is still Elmo I was born in 1995 when I was 3 my mom bought me a elmo.plush doll I took Elmo everywhere we went I still have it seeing this video brought back such awesome memories and I will always love sesame street.

oscar was originally orange when sesame street first premiered. it's too bad i would have liked to see ernie,bert,grover,rosita,zoe, telly, harry, slimy worm and some of the new muppets like julia,karli, abby cadabby and rudy also gonger as blind bag plushies

I watched it on a black and white tv. I absolutely loved the count. 1970 was a great year for new kids shows. They also made a Canadian version, I thought it was a flop. Maybe brown bear and girl were there. My absolute favourite was the count because he wasn’t on very often second was big bird.

Here in the Netherlands Big Bird is called Pino and he is blue. We also have two other main characters ieniminie, she is a mouse and Tommie who is a dog. There are also some human characters like frank and Gerda🥰
