I first saw this lady on a Google Talk. She's really a good public speaker and unthreatening teacher. Pithy, spirited words of wisdom lady. Very middle aged.

There are several things I like about the Way that you put things, Robina. You have a great mix of intellectual, artistic and "street" ways of exploring things. Very appealing and genuine.

A lot of buddhist teachers are very slow in their speech and that can become very dull very quickly. Robina actually keeps it interesting through the quicker pace in my opinion.

My Bro saw me smiling all happy and blissed out, he said you look Buddhist, at lunch last month, he expected me to say there arent words for it, and sometimes thats true, but the main two things i got in 4 years of trying to learn are....forgiving and getting rid of anger. Ven Robina taught me how to forgive, Ven Amy taught me how to rid myself of anger, now i am in love with her. If she wants me, YES, I will marry her.

Shes wonderful. I love how she speaks like a regular person. I learn very easy this way. She has helped so many people by just being her self. Shes not trying to be something other than her self. She is true to her nature and I love it! If you can't learn from her there are many other people who you can listen to.

A great Aussie speaker you are Robina. You remind me of a female version of my first teacher Barry Long.

I enjoy this lady's teaching. Too bad she couldn't get this far relying just on the Christianity but glad she got the help she needed, and glad she admits that our friend Jesus Christ is who ...The Buddhists call that "the root guru" - the one to first set on a spiritual path in the right direction.

Sorry, but for the Buddhists, the root gurus (plural) came from India.

Thank you for your wonderful teachings. I do question your separation of mind and body. I heard in another talk you reffering to the body as something one drags around and you seemed, to me, to be quite dismissive of the body. I think, and I have listened to other buddhist teachings, which describe the mind as not being in the head but in the whole body, that which is suppressed is suppressed and stored in the body, that tensions in the mind are carried as physical tensions in the body (Vipassana teachings)I found thinking of the mind as being in my whole body, rather than just in my head, to be very helpful in my own liberation path .hope this makes sense to more than just me! Hi Zezanje, clip pause, think about what was said, use the rewind option if you need to listen again to what was said; Just don't use fast forward , as you might go too quick on assumptions (thx youtube that's the only bad thing that can happen here :) ) fyi , Robina knows she speaks to quickly , but again, so much pressure, so many things to say to those who came to see here "in real life" , think about it ;)

Where does consciousness (mind) come from? That is not a meaningless question, even if the explanation is just that consciousness exists, without any beginning.

The same question can be asked: where does the universe come from? In my opinion these are meaningless questions. Even the Buddha himself could see no beginning of either mind or universe. What IS a meaningful question is how do we can get rid of suffering. That is exactly the point of Buddha's four noble truths.

I wish I could ask Robima Courtin how is it that she can so categorically say that there cannot be a first moment, that any effect is beginingless (THERE IS NO BEGINING), and with the same breath affirm that the Dalai Lama (and any other superior being) would come back and be reincarnated only if they wish to do so! He would be a cause that has no effect (THERE IS AN END)!? The way I see it, if there is no beginning there cannot be an end.

At the spiritual level of the Dalai Lama he will choose a rebirth that is most beneficial to sentient beings. That might be as a female Dalai Lama, a male one or not as a Dalai Lama at all. But believe me, Robina would tell you that everything is a dependent arising, including our mind, and that there is no beginning nor an end to it. By the way, Robina is my favorite Buddhist teacher because she makes the biggest impression on my mind of all Buddhist teachers I know.

May I suggest that you stop 'defining' other peoples thoughts: You think this, you did this etc. It is very unhealthy to define others thoughts and any psychologist can tell you that.

JAKE SUKK ....And my friend,Neither can you control other peoples will,When One is neither in control of oneself. When you make such statements as ''He or She won't listen to me'',What you mean is ''He/She won't let me control them''.How do you control a persons free will, when you can not even control ones own emotions. This is the point and you prove it so well.I guess from myself And Venrable Robina Thank You.....Anyway,if you appose such why watch it,Something you brought you to this vidro question that not The Venrable.

Jahleim Amaya I'm afraid that the free mind free will stuff will not work with what I had to say. I was pointing out an unhealthy way to relate to others. One can't 'know' what any other is thinking. It is also unhealthy to 'define' anyone. Notice how you also try to do the same to me. With this: When you make such statements as ''He or She won't listen to me'',What you mean is... No. I meant what I said. Only I can tell you what I mean.

That my freind is because 'Your mind is restricted, with doubt and a delusional view', That is not to say at all that there is anything wrong with you,But more what the Buddha is pointing out.....Wrong View,Wrong Perception. And inevitably.....Wrong Cognition.Thank You for your point much valued and I wish you well
