Great point. Medium AA actually looked just fine for me with how I have my system and settings but for anyone that is getting jaggies and would like to up it, this is the proper way to do it. +1

Same, I’ve tried everything, trying to knock out the missions to see if that helps but it’s almost impossible with the amount of lagging I’m getting. I have a 3090 and it’s only getting between 30-50fps lowering the graphics and everything else to minimum doesn’t make any difference.

Yes that is probably the case now, I believe a lot has changed on the backend since I released this video and it may very well no longer be the best option. When I made this though it was definitely a good trade off.

Hey there, I haven't had any experience with the game on Xbox so I can't say for certain but I have heard that trying some of these settings can affect slow down and sometimes the motion blur also. I will say though, these settings were from a couple of years ago and I'm not sure if they even still exist so take all of this with a grain of salt: Xbox Users try these steps: -Disable everything under Experimental settings including: -Skater Physical Animations -Caspers, Primos, Grabs -City Life off and density down to zero -Under Day/Night settings turn off Simulate Clouds and turn cloud coverage down to zero -Turn on performance mode -Turn off V-sync That may or may not help but it is worth a shot. Sorry in advance if it doesn't do anything.

Thank you for the info and input, you definitely know your stuff! And yes, like I say the motion blur and AA are the major causes for the ghosting issue and I specifically said medium or lower for AA like you mention because it changes the type of anti-aliasing. I include ambient occlusion in this video also because TONS of people are experiencing horrible FPS drops after the most recent update and this definitely helps. Most people will take ANY FPS gains they can get at the cost of whatever setting just to be able to play it. I mention which lines are for which setting so people can choose to disable what they prefer, or none at all. So yeah it was sort of a two part video, fix FPS AND ghosting, or just one of the two. I am just playing the messenger here, passing on what I have found to work for me and what I think looks good. In my personal situation though, I disagree about it not being worth it for the frames gained. I actually think it looks BETTER after disabling it (regardless of the frames), but to each their own. I often disable motion blur, ambient occlusion, and sometimes lower AA in other games too, just my preference (maybe I'm crazy). Thank you for all of the information though, it explains everything deeper than I wanted to go into with this video but it's a great comment to highlight here since I'm clearly not the expert in this category xD Cheers!

@@WatsonatorTV Interesting. For me the game is running better than it used to funnily enough :D maybe that was some driver or something that fixed it on my end, who knows. But yea, i'm very familiar that many people despise motion blur. I personally love it, but like you said, each their own. Though that being said, poeple disiking ambient occulsion is something new to me, but again, who am i to judge :D But yea, this whole ghosting thing was a problem ever since the game existed and lowering AA to medium was always my suggested fix. And also as a side note, the newer versions of unreal engine use better implementations for both motion blur and temporal anti aliasing with less ghosting artiffacts. I'm pretty sure sessions uses the newer version too, which makes me wonder why they haven't switched over to the newer effects yet. Probbaly because they're still useing theyr old code base and it's not on their priority list yet. But for the future, there's a good chance that that will be a none issue! :D

Odd. So you definitely have "show hidden items" checked and you can see your AppData>Local folder but its just not within that? are there other games in that folder? Also, maybe try doing a windows system search for "sessiongame" just to see where that folder exists. It HAS to be somewhere if your settings and saves are staying the same and not reverting back to default every time.

@@WatsonatorTV i am having the same issue i cannot see the SessionGame folder i trieed searching it up in windows system search but nothing came up

@@skwx hmm that's so weird. I took a couple of days to think about this and anything that could be causing that or how to fix it but I am honestly coming up blank. If you are definitely on Windows and you have the box ticked at the top to "show all hidden folders" I'm not sure why it's not coming up. The Windows system search will also come up blank if you don't have that box checked. I will continue to think about this but it's definitely weird because the game should work the same way for everyone. It's not like some people will have their folders in different places just for the heck of it. Also it NEEDS this folder to function so those files definitely have to be SOMEWHERE. I will let you know if I think of anything else. sorry I wasn't more help.

Hey there, sorry for the trouble but I believe that some of this information might be out of date due to it being released during the early access, before the official release of the game. I just checked my WindowsNoEditor folder also and it no longer has the engine.ini I did locate a file called UserEngine.ini that is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Session\SessionGame\Config\UserEngine.ini You could try to put the same text into this file instead and see if it works. Since it is just a settings ini file, it won't hurt anything if it doesn't end up working. I will likely be playing some Session in the near future so I will let you know if I figure anything out.

Unfortunately I don't think it is currently possible since there is no way to edit these files. I also don't own the game on console so I don't want to speak on something I am unsure of. Maybe it is possible there is mod support on console and there is a mod/addon that can help with changing it? Sorry I can't be of more help :(

@@WatsonatorTV no worries I appreciate the effort. Hopefully they will work on fixing this soon. For someone with OCD it really bothers me when the trucks motion blur like that. Ruins all the clips in my opinion

Hmmm. Are you positive you are in This PC > Local Disc C > Users > YourName > AppData > Local > SessionGame > Saved > WindowsNoEditor? Because if you are in the WindowsNoEditor folder that is correct, every single file that is inside WindowsNoEditor is actually a ".ini" type of file. So if you are positive you are in this folder it is possible that you just don't have your file extensions listed. You can change the view to see file extensions by hitting view and then checking the "show file extensions" box. If you right click the file and open with notepad it should still work if it is indeed the right place. Now I know there is ANOTHER FOLDER (not file but a folder) within your session folder in steam that is called Engine, this is NOT the correct place. Other than that I can't think of anything else it could get confused with. it is likely that the file extensions just weren't on and you were in the correct place :D

Yo I’m having the same issue followed exactly as you did mine does not say .ini

@@dtgxlcw9898 Did you double check that you have the "show file extensions" box checked at the top under "view"? If you see ANY files in the windowsnoeditor folder then you are in the correct place, everything in here is actually a .ini by default. It may be working fine you just cant see the extensions possibly.

I don't own an Xbox but from being in a few discord channels and forums I have seen a lot of people experiencing slow down and FPS loss on Xbox One. I have heard a few people say this helped them out somewhat so give this a try if you haven't already: -Disable everything under Experimental settings including: -Skater Physical Animations -Caspers, Primos, Grabs -City Life off and density down to zero -Under Day/Night settings turn off Simulate Clouds and turn cloud coverage down to zero -Turn on performance mode -Turn off V-sync Other than this I have heard that they are working on a patch and to fix some slowdown stuff for last gen consoles so I hope that it comes soon and that adjusting some of these settings might help ya.
