Hey! I followed this guide and your undervolting guide and I am impressed. My 3090 Ti FE runs so cool now with no performance loss at all. My GPU is yet to go over 55c and I have been running games like Cyberpunk and Baldurs gate 3 all on ultra settings. I do have a question though, so when my GPU is a temp between 30c and 55c the fans operate at 800 RPM, but when the GPU is 55c it doubles to 1600 RPM. I am curious if this could possibly have an effect on the life of my GPU or the fans. I will also mention that sometimes it bounces between 800 RPM and 1600 RPM because the card will go from 54c to 55c back to 54c and so on. But overall I am satisfied and yet to see 60c on any game just worried a bit about the fans.

You can set the hysteresis for the last problem youve mentioned! I recommend 10 °C. so when it reaches 55°C, it will run 1600rpm until the temp goes down by hysteresis amount, so in t his case 45°C. This will stop fluctuating speeds and lessen the wear of the fan

Thank You! The 4000 series is very well cooled, I test with the 4080, 55% fan speed is more than enough, I never see 60 degrees Celsius. The 4070TI has lower wattage and I think the 60% fan speed is too high, I only recommend if you have terrible case airflow.

Thanks for the video. I tried the 4 node profile you suggested. Tried to save to card. It said it could only do a 3 node save. I did that and it took it. Now, if I wanted to try a 4 node with AB running, how would I reset the to the four node option. It went away doing the 3 node. Anyway, good info. I have some control of the fan speed.

I have a Strix 4090 OC and also have the line that doesn't allow the fan speed to ever be completely off, BUT I set mine at ZERO regardless and if my cards under 35c it will actually not have the fans running at all - Also as for you not recommending doesn't really, almost objectively make any sense, 30% fan speed for hours a day potentially is only going to cause the fans to wear quicker. My GPU at idle stays between 28-35c MAX! For doing anything other than gaming, such as browsing the web, watching youtube videos, twitch etc. With that said, having ZERO RPM is objectively the better option
@ImWateringPSUs
@ImWateringPSUs 10 ай бұрын
I definitely see your point and in GPUs with massive heatsinks that’s actually a very good choice! Be careful with doing it on lower end GPUs with no VRM/MOSfets heatsinks because you do need to cool these with some airflow

"BUT I set mine at ZERO regardless and if my cards under 35c it will actually not have the fans running at all" Same here with the 4080 MSI Ventus, as I also prefer the fans completely off at low temperatures. I have the issue though that I want to fans to stay off also at a higher temperature, let´s say still off below 60 degrees - I changed the curve accordingly in Afterburner, but it seems it´s not being considered. Any idea how to fix that?

What should be the maximum fan rpm at around 75C? I usually set the fan speed at 65% (2400rpm) when I'm gaming. The stock fan curve is weird on my RTX 2060. Max RPM i noticed was 1800rpm which causes the temperatures to hit 84 (not undervolted) and 76 (undervolted 900mv) on full load.
@ImWateringPSUs

Really it depends on the fan itself. I’d say 60-70% is very good, RPM aside!

At 30% (lowest my GPU can go) my fan rpm is 1780-1800. It's loud as hell and it's driving me insane. Some people I've spoken to say their fans can go as low as 900 rpm on the lowest percentage. Is my GPU faulty or something?
@skyx1128388

manual adjust the fan speed won't cause the chip overheat? cause the fan speed is not in natural mode, not auto let the fan speed adjust itself better even though loud? Gaming in 60 FPS fan speed won't go loud unless disable vsync in game setting for make it higher fps.. high fps the card increase fan speed RPM. If the pc for working or browser only, don't have to bother adjust the fan speed. it won't go high at all..new graphic card, new technology, fan speed 0 RPM

@xLuxSoldi3Rx
@xLuxSoldi3Rx 9 ай бұрын
@@ImWateringPSUs sure. I have zero fan on until 40c set. But hysterisis is important on 4000series. I have an 4090 and in gamemenus it drops fast under 50c or even my 40c set, and that always turns off the fans into zero rpm. So hysterisis is helping a lot there. But only working properly with a stairs/step curve. Maybe you can experience more on this and share another video 🙏
