KNOCKED UP MOVIE REVIEW | 27:23 - 29:48
Knocked Up Movie Description:
Rising journalist Alison Scott (Katherine Heigl) hits a serious bump in the road after a one-night stand with irresponsible slacker Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) results in pregnancy. Rather than raise the baby on her own, she decides to give Ben a chance to prove he is father material. However, he is unsure if he is ready to be a parent, and both wonder if they would be compatible lifetime partners.
Knocked Up is a 2007 American romantic comedy film written, co-produced and directed by Judd Apatow, and starring Seth Rogen, Katherine Heigl, Paul Rudd, and Leslie Mann. It follows the repercussions of a drunken one-night stand between a slacker and a recently promoted media personality that results in an unintended pregnancy.
The film was released on June 1, 2007, to box office success, grossing $219 million worldwide, and acclaim from critics.

I went on a first date with a girl to see this movie early afternoon on like a Tuesday, so us and like 3 other people in entire theatre. I remember I was laughing so hard because I could relate so much to these guys at the time. I’ll never forget when I checked to see if the girl was enjoying it as much as I was…her face was priceless. It was a look of concern, sadness, and confusion…directed at me and my reactions. We never went out again.

Kristen Wiig as the passive aggressive assistant is one of the funniest goddamn things in this movie. Leslie Mann yelling at Craig Robinson and calling him "Doorman!"was improvised. They previously had her ad libbing a bunch of insults, but eventually she ran out of ideas and just improved it. Judd Apatow thought it was hilarious and kept the scene. Some of the movie was inspired by real events, including when Leslie Mann was going into labour and their doctor was out of the country.

I think Judd Apatow is who put the heart into this movie. Same with several others of his at the time, they usually were well acted, good characterizations, heart in the script, in addition to the envelope pushing humor. Copycats tend to take the envelope pushing humor to new limits while forgetting the other aspects that make a movie good.

Wife was in labour for about 3 days , I’m pacing up and down timing her contractions, ringing the hospital every hour to be told to stay away, finally we both hear a POP sound and waters leaking everywhere . We went in at 8cm dilation , then hours of pushing , then baby’s heart beat slowed so had to have assisted birth ( forceps ) scary rush rush into a room after donning nurse cloths with what felt like the cast of Ben Hur I have no idea why anyone would want home birth . If we’d have done that he might’ve died. Anyway he comes out , I’m in a daze and I’m led to a heater thing whilst they check him over. I didn’t notice he was grey until the colour started flowing through him . Then after the initial 5 mins in mother arms (mother still on her back at this stage after surgery or whatever the fuck they did down there) this fucking nurse with an attitude huffs because I’m struggling to put a baby gown on him. I’ve never held a baby , I have no idea how fragile they are I’m scared I’ll snap something . I’m shaking like a shitting dog and I ain’t slept for around 3 days at this point . I’m running on adrenaline and everything is second hand like I’m watching a film. Ramble over Just the scenes in the hospital brought back some memories . I have also been guilty of playing fetch with my son .

Bro, great reaction. This is one of my all time favorite movies. Judd Apatow in his time, was untouchable. He was like close to John Hughe’s status of filmmaking for his generation. And you were right about them just behaving naturally around each other. They are all friends, and the chemistry is real. The two little girls in the the film are actually Judd Apatow’s and Leslie Mann’s children; “Debbie” who plays Paul Rudd’s wife in this film, is his real wife irl. You should watch Freaks and Geeks and you’ll see where most of these actors got their start working with Apatow. I HIGHLY recommend Forgetting Sarah Marshall if you want to watch another film like this with a lot of heart and raw straight forward comedy. He is also responsible for: Freaks and Geeks (Series) Girls (HBO Series) LOVE (Netflix Series) The Big Sick The Cable Guy Anchor Man Talladega Nights Bridemaids Superbad Stepbrothers Walk Hard The 40 Year Old Virgin Pineapple Express Trainwreck And many more… Most of these would be good reaction material. Enjoy! Thanks again!

I always bust up at the intro at Jays (I think his name is Jay) face. He is really scared of thrill rides and his reaction is genuine.

I can admit that hormones from pregnancy are nuts, going from mad to breaking down into tears is no joke.

The woman that played Paul Rudd's wife is Leslie Mann. The director (Judd Apatow's wife)

Mellow, Seth Rogen was also excellent in the highly-recommended drama comedy "50/50"(Fifty fifty) with Joseph Gordon-Levitt!
