Sethan, a tiny village only 13 Km from Manali is an amazing location to explore snow, skiing, igloo stays, bouldering, snowboarding and camping! A tiny village which offers a lot of experiences!
We had visited Sethan in Feb 2020 and since then it has our heart and we can't wait to go back.

1. Are local buses available from Manali to Sethan and back (if yes then what are the timings?) 2. Where exactly is the zip-line? 3. How to rent snowboard? Would be grateful if you answer my questions, thanks in advance. Amazing video, keep creating ❤

1. Last we checked. No local buses run to Sethan. Private and shared jeeps were the only option. 2. Don’t have the updated info about the current zip line and status as we visited Pre-Covid. Lot of changes since then in these activities. 3. In peak snow season, a lot of vendors offer skiing for trying out and photo sessions right on the roads and around dhabas. For a proper course/renting a snow board, you need to check with a few providers in Manali or call up some properties and check if they have one. Our best guess is to check with The Wilderness Lodge. They are snowboarding enthusiasts and mostly have snowboarding classes as well. Thanks so the love and support 💛

Is it safe for female travelers? Will i be able to see the snowfall if i visit in Jan end - feb period?

Yep, it is absolutely safe. The two times we have been there, we didn't come across any concerns. So far the snowfall hasn't been much this season. I cannot comment on if you will find snow. If it is possible maybe you can make your bookings closer to the date and check with the property if there is a decent bit of snow in those dates.

Hey, so while on your way from Manali to Sethan, you will find a shop, wherein you can buy snow shoes, dress etc. It will be best if you buy from there.

April main Sethan main shayad itna baraf nahi hoga. It’ll start melting. Aage Hampta pass trail pr jaa skte ho to shayad Balu ka gera vagera pr baraf mill jaye. Igloos April main nahi honge

Yes, absolutely, it is well connected by road. Infact, roads go beyond Sethan as well. However, given the amount of snow that there can be, I would suggest to hire a cab and not drive by yourself. Hope this helps!

Difficult to do it around Sethan, as there are a lot of people living and a lot of properties all around. So everything will be public land. Better to take permission of locals if you want to. The trail to Hampta pass starts from a little ahead. You can go on the trail and then set up tent at a safer place/ Be mindful of environment and your safety

How much to pay for taxi from manali to sethan

Hey, generally an alto would cost you around ₹1500. And in case you are going during snow, then you would need a gypsy, the cost for which can come around to ₹2500. These are rough figures and would definitely recommend you to confirm before hand. Your stay should be able to help you with the same.

Hey, depending on what type of experience you want you could choose: Winters: It is covered with a blanket of snow which looks absolutely beautiful. And skiing and snowboarding can be done. Monsoons: It is absolutely lush green and waterfalls can be seen in all their beauty. Summers: The temperature is decent, and you can even do bouldering. Autumn: The weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear with some breathtaking views. Hope this helps! 😀
