I had imagined any size fridge was too big for what I drive. But the phrase "game changer" absolutely applies to traveling with a fridge rather than carrying a cooler (I used to carry two, one for food and another for drinks) and getting ice all the time.

Setpower makes a great product. I have the Setpower EA35 37 quart fridge that I've been using 24/7 for the past 2 years as a freezer and It hasn't let me down yet. Absolutely love it. At the time I bought it, about 2 1/2 years ago, I got it for only $139 on sale. I was skeptical at first as I'd never heard of the brand before, but I'm so glad i went with it.

My wife and I just got the set power tc65 for our chevy suburban we are building to overland and it's been a game changer. No more tending to a cooler that takes ice. The refilling, draining, rearranging days are over!! I also like the fact that it wastes no time to get to its set temperature. Also, the money we save from buying ice and time spent to stop and tend to the old style cooler just adds up over the course of a trip. It is well worth the money and has completely changed our way of overlanding. Thanks for introducing us to set power!

I put a FC15 in my Tesla model y sub trunk. I plug it in to the cigarette lighter plug in on in the back drivers side. I have Sentry Mode on all the time and it draws from the car battery, but not enough to cause a problem. Just a few miles or so of range depending how hot it is outside. Always have cold drinks and a place for a turkey sandwich. The Tesla trunks that are custom fit are $500-600. This was just over $100. I have had it on 24-7 since I got it a couple of months ago.

I went with setpower after watching your vids. Ive had this exact model for about 2 months as well. It stays with me almost everywhere i go. I keep it in my work trucks backseat plugged into an inverter when at work, and keep it in my gladiator with a 618wh power bank that charges as i drive when im off from work. Its perfect for work, when going to kids football practice to keep drinks cold, or daily use in general. Tested it on a 288wh bank and got just over 13hrs straight use out if it without using solar or recharging. Solar charges more than this unit uses….Great vid! Thanks for confirming i made a good purchase. Look forward to the next!

15-20 liters is the perfect size for me, solo traveler, small vehicle with an interior bed. Just enough food for a few days at a time, with a little space left over to keep a few drinks cool. Even when I'm out for a few weeks, I still pass through a town often enough to top off my food supply, so less is more

I've run the Alpicool C15 for 3 years now (assuming the SetPower is the same basic unit as they look similar)...its just me, so don't need a ton of room and it has served me well. You just have to think & plan to maximize the space. Small soda cans, shelf stable milk and just rotate in to cool what's up next. If you're not looking to be an overland chef, its a very viable solution for not a lot of money.

😎👍Great price, including ordering the AC adapter option with it. I use a 48qt BougerRV for camping, and the Setpower one will readily fit in the enclosed cargo area of my Bronco (the BougeRV is too large), and be handy for my random weekend road trips out of town visiting family. I passed the link on to those family members.

I have seriously thought about getting one of these for my semi truck. I think I could squeeze that in. The built in fridge on the truck is tiny so a little extra room would really help. Plus I could take it on the overnighters on the weekends.

Received the FC15 today, and did a quick test with some water bottles placed in it. Fridge cooled-down fairly quickly to 41°. Can't seem to get it off of the "M" battery-saving feature, but not a big deal. I'd like to have a phone app for it, but can't beat the price for just under $132, which also includes ordering it with the separate AC adapter. Thanks for the discount code. 👍

@kylebar724 I love it! If I were forced to pick out the negatives, I would say its compartments are a little small with the divider installed, and the lid only being 1 direction is a bummer. Otherwise, it's awesome. I bought 2 batteries and still haven't had to plug it in to the trailer or jeep power when gone for a weekend. It's big enough for a long weekend, and the ice making ability is clutch for drinks around a campfire... I had delivery issues with the batteries when I first purchased the unit, but when I explained I needed it for the next weekend, they rushed me 2 more batteries, so customer service is amazing. I really have no complaints, just the 2 nit-picky items I mentioned in the beginning.

I have a very similar brand & size, 15Qt Fridge, looks almost exactly the same, so guessing the guts are all common across all the 15 Qt fridges. However, the SetPower has a latching & reversible top, and those side clips could be useful tie down points, or like you've shown adding additional functions. I think mine was $128 a few years ago and I've been really happy with mine. Absolutely a cheap way for folks to have a fridge when they're out on their adventures.

I got the 21L ea series from setpower. It's been a game changer for our road trips and camping. Only downside is with a 300 watt power station it won't run on dc power. I have to use the ac adapter and it will only run 4 to 6 hours before draining the power station completely. In contact with setpower now because the inner walls started bulging so we'll see what happens

Update, the FC20 worked perfect on my 3 day trip on the trail. The battery protection worked well as I do not yet have a power station, so was just running off my 12V in the back of the Jeep. Never had any issues with draining battery and the Jeep started right up each morning when getting back on the trail while keeping everything cool. Definitely recommend as a good affordable space saving and/or starter fridge.

I purchased a SetPower 42 Quart AJ40 12V Fridge Freezer Portable Refrigerator based on one of your reviews and just love it. I wish I had opted for a dual zone but I think after this review I might just opt for the FC15 as my freezer. You also sold me on the Openroad winch which has come in handy a few times. One thing I will say about the Openroad Winch is the labels are peeling of and after a half dozen or more attempts to get replacement labels, they just quite responding. The promised that the labels would be here in a few months but nothing, crickets. That is not good support for such a small thing.

My wife and I have been full-time overlanding for the last 2 years since we retired. We've owned two set power fridges. And you couldn't get me to buy one ever again. Take the 45 liter and compare it to an iceco by sound, by the sound of the compressors when they start up. Also their support is now in India and it sucks. Trying to get a replacement for our 45 l dual zone especially on the road was hell. Their support in India is sloppy at best and does not really care. I highly recommend people look around and spend a few more bucks and get a better fridge they're cheap compressors in the set power fridges. I appreciate the weekend warrior reviews but in my opinion they're just that. Looks good it runs it keeps things cool so it must be good or at least okay. Stay away from set power is my opinion. Now I'm sure they give you these things and I'm happy for you but until you go through everything about a product including how it's warranty is handled You're just not giving it what I call a solid review. Everything else you guys do I love and will continue watching your adventures but I'm done listening to people's opinion on equipment when they have never really used it that much or put it through the test. Love you guys keep on keeping on.

@@dangallagher3883 Hi Dan, how was iceco about warranty replacement? What I did like about iceco over set power was the length of the warranty on their compressors over twice as long as set power. Dometic makes a great fridge and I think the best one out there is the national Luna but they are very expensive. When I first got my first set power I had problems with the latch called support and a lady in the States took care of it immediately. After about a year with my set power 45D the compressor failed and dealing with their overseas support was a major pain in the you know where. In my two years of traveling and over landing full time we really put a lot of things to the test. Everybody's going to have different experiences. I'm just very reluctant to take advice from people who get these products give them to them they take it out for a weekend or two and then tell you what a great thing it is. Nothing against them and I like most of their adventures just leary of their opinions on products.

@@deeproamer2431 Iceco compressor warranty is 5 years and Set Time is 3 years. I figured for $600 if it last 3 years I could live with it. I bought the assuring policy also for added protection. Iceco is very slow to respond. So each time my fridge failed I was without a working fridge for a few weeks which makes it expensive having to eat at truck stops not to mention the food I lost to spoilage. Honestly, I would have been ahead had I spent the extra money and bought a better fridge to begin with. I would never buy another Iceco and didn’t realize set time was affiliated until I saw how the dual purpose lid opened. Then I suspected they shared designs. Anyhow, if the set time fails, I will purchase a higher quality one and hopefully be done with all the failures.

@@dangallagher3883 I think we all have had different experiences with these fridges. The way I got my iceco was when my set power was finally replaced a buddy of mine who's a truck driver had the 60 l dual zone and it was too big for his rig so I traded him. I heard that customer service with iceco is not very good. Once you go from an ice chest to one of these type of refrigerators you'll never go back. And Matt I'm not knocking your reviews we have met before at one of the shows and you and your wife are great people and somebody has to review this stuff it's just I got a chip on my shoulder with set power. Just like Dan does with iceco I do believe that all these fridges have a place for the weekend warrior to the full-time traveler. And if I came across a little harsh Matt I apologize. I think your kind of channel really helps a lot of us.

@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I went through 4 Iceco 75 in a year on my semi. One had a bad circuit board. They sent out a bad one for replacement. Then sent out a part that wasn’t even close. Then sent a replacement refrigerator that one side didn’t work. Sent out another that completely quit working in 3 months. Sent out a fourth that I keep in my personal truck now so don’t know how it will last. I just got the set power 75 for the semi and the right side cools down to 7° according to the unit. I haven’t put my digital thermometer in to see how far off it is. The last unit was 5° warmer than what the fridge read. Anyhow, it freezes Whole Foods we’ll enough but ice cream bars are not frozen hard. They are softer than what you would prefer. So, I think I have enough experience at this point to authoritatively speak on both company’s products. If this current unit fails, I will just bite the bullet and spend the money for a dometic.
