Once got kicked out of a track for breaking the BB V8 N/A track record held by the track owners son... Celebrating after the run I told the tracks owner "Tell Garret (owners son) he needs to spend more money" which is what I was told by the owner and his son countless times up to this point. 40 mins later I line up for my 2nd run, get to the staging area and the owner tells me "Take that shit home, and I don't bring it back to my track again".

This is what happens when you don't cater to the crowd that pays your salary. You loose their business. Not only are these guys reasonably liked drivers, having shop owners speaking ill of your track will prevent anyone from ever wanting to come by.

Tulsa Oklahoma’s drag strip will keep the track open for as little as 3 cars for as long as they want to run at least until 5:30 am at least that’s when we got tired and woke him up to let him know to lock the gate after we pulled out. Lol

The track near me is a 1/4 mile dirt oval and my friends and I built a racecar from a Porsche 944 for the 4 cylinder division and the tech inspector tried disqualifying us because our car had a "rotary" engine. He walked up to us and told us this while the hood was off although you could clearly see a sohc cover that read Porsche right across it. As we explained common sense to the guy, he changed his story and said that other crews in the 4 cylinder class were saying that the car was illegal. Needless to say, we ran our Porsche up against their fart box Mazda's and Honda's and won the heat and the feature race and never came back to the track.

Funny how, as soon as someone sets a record in the states, it automatically becomes a world record ...

Yeager does good work and anyone who knows them knows that they are a great group of people. I just thought it was weird and strange how that big guy let one car make a pass but not let the Chevy make another pass when it was already at the line.They could have run together or just let the Chevy go when the other car got halfway down, and then get upset because he went fast in a parking lot with no one in it. I didn't see the 3 people he mentioned but I don't believe anyone was in danger from 2 seconds of throttle, and for him to get that upset just doesn't add up,he was mad or pissed at something, just can't tell what it was.Congrats to the Yeager crew!!
