What an awesome video and tutorial! Absolutely killer content and howto help. Thank you so much and PLEASE keep this basic and foundational info coming. It would be amazing if you had an entire series of DIY, start to finish, on troubleshooting and most common hvac repairs (contacter replacement, capacitor replacement, charging up low system, finding leaks, repairing leaks, etc.). Even if you sold this series - if it walked through step-by-step, I’d buy it in NY second. Also, if you provide tool set recommendations - like good/better/best options, and defined which tools are truly mandatory versus which tools are nice to have, etc. This would be home run. Especially if you also provided basic electrical troubleshooting guides too. Thank you so much!

Yellow jacket makes them (of course lol) they work great but definitely slow things down.
@ToughCowboy
@ToughCowboy 3 жыл бұрын
@@codycopeland7527 yes it does, which also is why there are more than a few companies/techs do not use, because why do it right and take more time (when they get paid a fixed rate), not to mention - it’s not their compressor the techs are destroying…and when your compressor bites bullet after getting slugged, then you’ll be calling the company back to buy an entirely new HVAC unit. Clear as day and makes perfect sense to me, right?

So in other words, if you pulled vacuum, you can just use the pressure of the jug to put the entire factory charge into the system with everything off in a single go, turn it on, check delta T, and if that seems good, then close out the job.

If you are charging a system in a vacuumed state would you charge liquid refrigerant into the liquid side port ? Then open valves and do a startup?

I truly appreciate the effort. Very clear and concise. I’ve been utilizing your tutorials as I’m learning on my own by necessity. Would you bother with a superheat tutorial in 3 D? “ I’m hearing” different methods from different techs. 🤷‍♂️

Fantastic video. I have heard some techs not liking/using that liquid vaporizer due to not knowing what percentages of the blend you are getting out. Some use their gauges as a restriction device and "throttling" the refrigerant in very carefully. What are your thoughts on this.

Excellent video…great presentation. Would it be helpful to report what the outside ambient temperature was here? We had a few days here in NOLA of 100º last month. What is the closest approach temp one can expect with air temp of 100º? Will the TXV adjust to increase liquid line pressure to where you can get 10º sub cooling with ambient air of 100º? Or is it a sliding scale? Well done…thanks.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I did the same steps after checking filters , condenser, blower ,fan and no leaks but adding 1/2 pound or so did not change the subcooling or the high side pressure at all even after 15 min system run and txv superheat was in the range. Where the 1/2 pound of 410A go? thank you!

Liked the video guys!! Brian, Which of you are correct, Jim Bergman, TruTech guy, or you with regard to purging the charging hose. Do I go ahead and purge charge hose into the system or just shut off the charging line and hold line gas for another time or release into atmosphere. Bergman says never purge charge hose, with gas, into the system and you show to purge line into the system. Thanks for all your resources, videos and commentary on HVACR training!!
