Does it matter episode 1. As you know we are going to make this car a lot faster but before we do that I wanted to have a goal. So I am going to the Nordschleife to set a lap time and then I will see how fast I want to make this car. If you have interesting ideas to make this car go faster then post it in the comments.

Btw guys the thumbnail is still watermarked, I bought the original photo but apparently there is a 36 hour wait period to wait for the photos and aint nobody got time for that so I'll update the thumbnail in a few days again!

the holes in the bumper has to do with aerodynamics. apparently some cars, among which civics, catch wind with the rear bumper which causes a lot of drag, a phenomenon which is sometimes called parachuting. cutting holes in the bumper would allow the air to escape, negateing or atleast lessening the parachute effect. another way to stop that is by adding a flat floor to the underside of the car, which would be one hell of an episode. imo other interesting things would be spoilers and splitters, wheels and tires and cold air intakes. best of luck dude, get em 9 minutes :-)

It was great to see you again and if the track had been open longer, then I would have offered to swap cars for a lap ;-) Performance mod in my opinion that will improve you times the most: 1. Tires 2. Brakes 3. Engine 4. Suspension / Chassis Setup

Loving the car! To me, and if i was deciding the mods, they would be: -D16A9 for the motor -EG6/EK4 brakes for all corners -Bilstein shock absorvers with Eibach springs -Some 15 inch alloy wheels with 195/50 r15 Nankang’s NS2R tyres I think its enough! 😄 Keep up the great work!! Ps: i love your crx!!!!!!!

Great ideas! I still have a d16a9 laying around but im not sure if it will get me a sub 9 lap time, they look great in a 3g though 😎

The Midnight Garage the motor inst everything, but 130 hp are enough for that little and light car But on the motor you could put some headers with a straight pipe, you could also put some pipe from the bumper to the air box and then tune it

Fitting the D16A9 in a 3G Civic is anything else than a straigth forward job. It's not worth the afford, since you can more or less just bolt in a ZC1 (1G CRX) with the same power output. If you're realy into putting all that work into a swap, take a B- or K-series. EG6/EK4 brakes don't bolt up - especially not in the rear. Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs (rear only - the front has torsion bars) are not available anymore. If you find a good set, you're pritty lucky.

Hi Reuben, Find yoursel some 1G integra front hubs and you can even boot on the rear axel which will give you rear disk brakes. Then a good brake swap would be an EP3 Caliper but sing 280mm disks unless you have the ability to redrill the ep3 ones to 4x100. Regarding engine swaps Hasport do d and b series mount kits. I have a k going into mine soon but the mounts havnt been finalised yet so not sure on replicating them for other people just yet. BC do a bolt on coilover but means adjusting or totally dropping the torsion bars. GizFab does front braces and rear panhard rods off the shelf

Hey gaaf 3G Civic content, een serie welke ik denk ik wel ga volgen. Voor een remmen setup, ik heb zelf een 1G Crx staan waar ik ook al het nodige aan geknutseld heb. Ik rijd momenteel met 262 remmen voorop en 262 remmen achterop, alles is gedaan met gebruik van originele honda onderdelen. En ik moet zeggen dit remt als een idoot op een dergelijk licht autotje. Mijn setup is: Voor: 282 klauwen DC2 ( met alle bijbehorende montage brackets en remblokken van de DC2 logischerwijze ) 262 schijven ( Ik heb schijven gebruikt van een EG maar is geen P&P fit blijkbaar was beter geweest set EE8/9 schijven te pakken 3 mm spacer voor onder de remschijf Hell staal omvlochten remleidingen EG Achter: Achteras swap van de Integra van die tijd welke met de schijfremmen kwam. ankerplaten moeten afgevreesd worden. Honda insight II 262 achter remschijven 262 achter remklauwen DC2 ( met alle bijbehorende montage brackets en remblokken van een DC logischerwijze ) Hell staal omvlochten remleidingen, welke bedoeld zijn voor de vooras EG Ik denk dat je de CF48's niet onder de auto vandaan zult willen halen, ik zelf heb een set 14" MR5's en dit past ! Moet eerlijk zeggen achteras is moelijk te verkrijgen en loopt behoorlijk in de papieren. Vooras is behoorlijk gemakkelijk en kan relatief goedkoop gedaan worden. mocht je meer info willen let me know !

Awesome project Ruben! sub 9 is ambitious, but I think it could be, depending on a lot of factors (weather, driving skills, the drivers around you but most of all: money). Really curious to see what will come next.

Swap the rear-window(s) for plexiglass. You will stay in budget and makes the car lighter.

The D15b original Japanese Engine would fit that thing nicely! But maybe a d16 or b16 would be a bit better?

Ive had a 3 stage vtec engine in a kanjo racer that i imported from japan, that engine was a beast! Good call!

@@TheMidnightGarage that was the point i tried to make =) You alrerady have one, why not take that one? Is it already sold? Besides that, i daily drive a (i'm not driving much though) ed6 and love it, my first and only car, original shape. But the paint on the roof and the hood is loose and i don't have the money to fix that, maybe i get an eg sometime... have a nice day!

Sub 9:00 will never happen unless you spend hundreds of thousands of dollars not just only on performance upgrades, but also on crazy custom aero with wind tunnel testing.

You might be right, but for reference the official ep3 type r lap time is 8.47. But that was with a professional race car driver behind the wheel

Checkout the medieval coilovers by tein. www.heeltoeauto.com/shock-spring-kit/medieval-pro-damper-kit-by-tein-1984-87-honda-civic-clone-med.sus.damperkit166.html Thats the link. I know bc makes a pair as I use to actually own one of these cars and was gonna get some but the difference between the two is that the tein comes with torsion bars and damper for the front and coilovers for rear and bc is just coilovers all around. Appearently the front shock towers arent strong enough for the bc but if ur going for a sub 9 I think welding some little corner braces will be well worth it to make them work. I also know links for strut, and chasis brace as well as a panhard bar for the rear. And I can find a full b swap kit......as you can tell I really wanna see this car built as I sadly wasnt able to do it myself
