I watched a lot of videos on plowing. You did the best job describing how to setup and adjust your plows. Thanks you

I installed my 2 bottom plow on my small tractor today and did not know of the adjustment part. My plow sat flat like you mentioned so tomorrow I will try adjusting. I also have a full acre of Buffel grass and the roots just grab onto the plow and get stuck between plows. Great video.

I always bush hog first if the grass is very tall, I plow afterwards, yeah, I know what you mean that tall grass is a killer.

you need coulters installed on your plows to slice the turf before plowing

good information, what was your reason not to start in the middle and do a back furrow, so you are plowing in both directions saving time and money, also how do you plow the ends to make things square?
@williamsgardenbees24556 ай бұрын
I’m keeping my bottom level by plowing in one direction, after discing it will be square. If I were to start in the middle, it’s going to leave a low in the middle, after a few years you haven’t a level bottom, yes it takes more time and fuel but my bottom stays level… I have friends that plow from the middle but they go back to fundamentals after a couple of years… I have 16 inch two plows and my friends have three plows making each run 48 inches while my runs are 32 inches..

Excellent instructions! How much slack do you like to leave on the chains?
@williamsgardenbees24559 ай бұрын
You, need to leave slack as where the plows can follow your tractor, I leave it where the plows can sling about 6 inches… Note : If you have them without any slack you may blend something when you make a turn.

Чому непоставите колесо на плуг так буде краще

Wheel is an option, if the ground hadn’t been plowed in years wheel might help but the ground has been plowed lately you’d be safe without them.

That’s a rotor tiller not a disc?? 😂😂
@williamsgardenbees245510 ай бұрын
Yes it is a tiller, sorry about that… I do have a disc, use it about once a year and then till, at 76 years old, I make a lot of mistakes… Same principle applies to both of them… thank you for correcting me…

I have a branson tractor and it has locks or float on the lift arms where you can lock them from moving up or down. What is best way?
@williamsgardenbees24558 ай бұрын
I use lock and manually raise or lower my plows, Here in Appalachia most all of our land is un level. This bottom here in this video is level so it really doesn’t matter lock or unlock…

@@williamsgardenbees2455 thanks, that is what i was leaning towards, i live in southern wv myself. i know what ya mean. as a kid, my dad had pony's and used a Lynchberg 9 plow, but any modern plow is not made for hillsides, the ones i have are old, out of the 50's, International Super Chiefs, 14in. twins.

@@roofdriller1537 back in the 50’s / early 60’s, I would lead our horse and my older brother would plow, those were the hard days but the best days of my life… Now at 76 I look back at these memories of old..
