For future reference, If you attach a monitor and keyboard to the NAS you can access the BIOS simply by pressing CTRL+F12 keys

Thank you. It seems like Ugreen will only support OS updates for 3 years on most of the models, so I'm highly considering using third party OS.

It was a recommendation by my friend. So I bought a key before the price increase. I purchased the Ugreen NAS with the sole intention of running Unraid. Another reason was that I didn't want to risk all my files with a first gen software. Unraid has been around for quite some time and has a great track record.

You had a lot of extra drives. When running the Windows USB Installer, I might recommend unplugging all external drives and start again.

Alex...I am a novice to the whole NAS and command line/terminal window thing. I followed your steps to make the internal ssd on this NAS unrecognizable, thinking I could reverse this later. However, not that I am wanting to do so, I cannot find a way to use the command line to go back in and return the ssd to its original name. Would you mind doing a walkthrough on how to do this, or at least message me with a link to someone or some page where I can get some help? So far, I have not been able to get any help from UGREEN.

One way to restore UGOS is to put ubuntu on a flash drive and reverse the name changes once you boot into ubuntu.

@@FerdinandThommes I never got the fan controls to work in unraid. The only way to adjust the fan speeds are in the bios.

The m.2 thermal pads are supplied with the NAS.

Did the nas led lights still work with unraid? Any other issues with usb or network connectivity?

The status LEDs don't work with Unraid, they just cycle. Everything else works perfectly fine, no issues whatsoever.

And also it would be great to see how to host your own website on this thing. Btw I'm not just asking, I also have the same nas but dont know what to do with it and even if it's worth it to maybe switch the os
