It is a home phone base, but not a landline base as stated many times in the video. It works off of the cell system.

Will this base handle multiple phones using a splitter and lines run to different rooms? I tried to use a splitter with a device called "Cell to Jack" and using any more than one phone draws too much power and none of the phones produce a dial tone or will ring.

So I am assuming if you don't have cell phone service in the area, this will not work? I am curious because this is for a cabin where we have no cell service. Correct?

I recently bought a zteWF723 to use with a Canadian carrier. While the sound on my end is great, people on the receiving end say the sound is tinny and at times too loud--unpleasant or noisey I have the device near a window with full 4 bar reception and have removed other electronics from the area but it still produces poor sound--any other things that could be done to improve the sound?

They've got phone jacks with splitters that allow you to run extra phones off of the main one so that you can set up extra phones....Don't know if that would work with this or not but it's not too expensive to try it out. Here's the biggest one I've ever seen! www.amazon.com/GFORTUN-Female-Telephone-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B06XKBJ6FV/ref=sr_1_9?dchild=1&keywords=phone+splitter&qid=1625019853&sr=8-9

@@j.t.masters1934 Okay, thank you! Well, I found out that we can still get a landline, just not Wi-Fi with our phone service. We can get a hot spot with a cell phone though because we are close enough to a tower. Can't remember the name of the company...hubby is in bed so I can't ask him. Patriot something!

That's not a real landline phone system! The base depends on the radio signal of a cell tower to connect the landline phone handset to the telephone system and therefore is not meeting the level of reliability of a traditional wired landline phone service. Do not use this service in an area with spotty cell coverage/regular power outages or if you need a reliable telephone connection because of health problems. Cell towers are known to be the first to collapse and become unavailable/overloaded in case of a community disaster or power outage.
@ellielasater-guttmann5782 жыл бұрын
Ellie from Community Phone here! You are totally right that this is not a traditional landline phone. That being said, it is worth noting that the traditional copper cable landlines are no longer being maintained by the major carriers. Sadlt they are therefore unreliable through power outages.
@charlesrichards53892 жыл бұрын
Problem is, most people who keep land-lines hook a cordless phone to them (which is a base station with a cordless handset so you can walk around the house as you chat). The base has to be plugged into an electrical outlet to work. No power, no phone! You need a land-line AND an old-fashioned *corded* phone to maintain reliable communications during disasters / power outages. Even my HAM radio tower was knocked down when Hurricane Michael came through my area, so my old-fashioned phone was the only link for me (and neighbors) to the outside world.
