Damn, what a waste of a really nice DVD/VCR combo from LG! Oh well. Sometimes I like watching this channel when I'm bored and when nothing else is on TV. Thanks for all the destruction and keep these videos coming. 😃

I used to make heaps of income servicing and selling these, but then the VHS craze died out and so these units once again became worth barely anything. Figured I may as well use one for a video since I would get more in revenue than if I sold it. LG combo units dominated the combo market here in Australia so they're extremely easy to find.

Yeah I know how a lot of people don't use VCRs these days and more are using DVDs, Blu-ray and streaming services, than VCRs are more like a museum piece or make good smash videos like these. I still use VHS from time to time, but I mainly use DVDs. They work so much better and have features that VHS tapes don't have like interactive menus and stuff. It was great from that era and are still being made. DVDs rock. Keep these great videos coming because I like a lot of your videos so far.

Clips were recorded on multiple days: August 15th (tape unwrapping), August 23rd (plugging in cables) and August 30th (smashing it).

I do love the clothes and the nails wow! What colour did you make your hair? I remember those stupid labels you had with tapes and it was quite an art to get them in the right place. Do you have a new shed too? The tape brand made me laugh and reminded me of those stupid road runner videos.

It wasn't broken. I've sold this model in the past and it didn't sell for much, so I figured making a video would be a better investment.

Worked fine, but considering the previous one I had of this model didn't sell for such a huge amount (WITH remote), I didn't see a point spending an entire day restoring, cleaning, servicing, taking pictures and listing it only for it to sell for a small amount.

Gonna try. EDIT: The only sad thing (to me, because I have the most basic VCR) is that it was combo and it was brand-new tape. It even had component separation. Fortunately, it was E-180 cassette, not 240. But, since it your channel, your environment, and you are doing all this for entertainment... I have nothing to say then..

I tried selling the tapes for ages but nobody wanted to buy them. I've seen heaps of listings for brand new VHS tapes and they never sell. Component video was for DVD only. All combo units of the time came with S-Video and component video out for DVD only. The VCR can only use RF or composite. These LG combo units made up the majority of DVD/VCR combo units in Australia. They're extremely common to find so not like it was a huge loss.

I followed this tutorial step by step to the end and I haven't been able to record anything, and now my VCR is broken into pieces. I wonder if I have done something wrong in one of the steps.
