Green Hell is my new favorite survival game. It sat in my steam account for a few years until I tried it and I can't stop playing. This is a survival playthrough on the "welcome to the jungle" difficulty settings. The goal is to survive and explore the map and maybe build a nice base at some point.

The pets get poisoned from their own poop, like you said you hadn't been there in a while. The white mushrooms are fine to feed them, you just didn't clean often enough. They will get better as long as the stall is clean. Happy channel bday too! 🎂

@@GrindThisGame it really does, I found out the hard way, their death animation is quite heartbreaking - or well the animation isn't much they kind of collapse but the sound they make is truly "you failed us" I found it kinda funny you built gardening plots to feed them while it's meant to be the other way around. You feed them leaf piles and whatever extras you have to get poop to grow fruit for yourself faster. Their main purpose as pets is fertiliser production. The snare trap and killer trap are better if you're after meat, no extra feeding/cleaning/watering during dry season. Snare trap you already built, but with that you need to cut the animal down and kill it. Killer trap just kills, one possible downside is it will hurt the player too if you walk into it while it's armed. But it can also kill hostile tribesmen that can come to attack you and destroy your buildings. BTW neither of them actually needs a food lure to work if you place it where they normally path. I've played this game too much but I'm pretty sure you said no spoilers so I'm not sure if and how much I can say. There is something special about the clay bottles tho that can save you a lot of resources and makes exploration or in general staying well fed way easier.

If you really want to build with mud… sometimes those watering holes have mud in them while there is water in there so you could build 2 or 3 mixers right beside it and fill them when it rains. Then your bricks are right beside the house. Just an option if you were keen on a mud house.

I got bored of Green Hell too quickly. To actually survive you need very little which means all the crafting recipes are unnecessary. The better versions of the knife or spear are obsolete. All the building stuff is again unnecessary. All you need is a leaf bed and a campfire, maybe a dryer/smoker to take some meat with you. After that there is basically nothing to do and the threats in the game are extremely easy to handle. I have no idea what the devs could do to spice things up while keeping it realistic. Perhaps re balance it a bit. Make the early recipes have more negative sides to them and most certainly make the threats in the game harder to deal with. I should not be able to hear a spider or a scorpion for example and a big cat growling and snarling when it's sneaking, what is up with that. I shouldn't hear them.
