i like how the video emphasises the woman’s humanity in spite of her not-so-human appearance. she’s naked, vulnerable, while the men are fully dressed and looking down at her. however, while they are cloaked in shadow, she’s standing in the light and displaying herself. to me this is saying that these men, while they look human, are much more monstrous than this woman could ever be

I like the fact that the obviously-not-human mythological creature lists off the things they think a 'human' is: mostly just fleshy, corporeal things. Not our accomplishments, not love, not our joy. Bones, skin, soul, sweat, flaws, veins, scars. You could argue that that is the very bare minimum category for something to even be alive, let alone a human. Love the artistic depth in this song

I also see in her psychological power, she is there dancing alone, she stands below them and they stand upstairs, they are staring at her consuming her with their eyes. In the beginning men's expressions are cold and arrogant, then they are intrigued and towards the end of the dance some of them are afraid. Compared to them, she keeps her consistency from start to finish, in her eyes and her moves she's powerful, she looks up at the stage, not down at the ground. She's trying to convince them she's human, she's naked and treated as an inferior but there is dignity in her moves, and because she causes their expressions and emotions to change throughout the video, she owns them for a couple of minutes and she is human.

EDIT: Holy hell, y'all. Thanks for all the likes! I totally get the occult symbolism that so many are seeing in this video. From my perspective, I was finding connections between the imagery and the lyrics. I hear the lyrics as though she's trying desperately to humanize herself to someone. Her saying over and over again that she's human, and listing all the aspects of what makes her alive: breathing, having a heart, bones, flesh, flaws, soul, and so on. The imagery paired with the song itself, to me, tell a story of a woman who has been showcased by the elite. They don't see her as a person, but rather a commodity--a mystical creature. I'm almost reminded of a show horse because of the hooves, though a satyr would also make sense in regards to the supernatural elements of the video. She's made to perform, seduce, but not given the same luxuries and pedestals as those watching her, thus she descends down dark, hidden staircases and dances on dirt. She's not the same--she's special, yet less. Intriguing, but separated. Sexy, yet untouchable. To the elite, something is off, but they can't stop paying, can't stop watching. They don't care to hear how she feels about it; it's almost like the lyrics are her inner thoughts, things she desires to say but has been silenced. Anyway, those are just my two cents~ I love this video. Kind of has a Scorpio vibe. That deep, dark, weird water energy. I love it.

Shes dancing inside what looks very much to me like indoor arena used for horses. When horses are shown often they are lead out in their show rugs and the rug is taken off once in there, like an 'unveiling' but mainly its kept on to keep them clean because days go into washing and grooming presenting them for shows, certain breeds are shown in flashy head collars and 'jewels'. They then 'perform' whilst people watch them, watching them for all different kinds of reasons, for their sheer beauty, because its their job and they are interested in purchasing or to relax, entertainment all different reasons. She has horse legs which for me only adds to that meaning, especially when the camera swings down and you see nothing but horse legs. There are so many meanings that could be pulled from this but personally to draw from the quote under the vid also could go so deep. But I see the comparison of some people to animals, animals get watched a lot, we put them in zoos, show them etc. When an artist performs people watch them for many reasons, people are put on pedestals, especially those involved in art/entertainment and many people see illusions seeing them as more than 'human', hence the lyrics. Especially women in flashy underwear, make up, nice bodies dancing, people get mesmerised, the same with dressage horses. Some people see more beauty in dressage horse for example than an obese laminitic pony stuck in a muddy field, some people see both. People don't often see the hours of work that goes into things think these airbrushed ' gods' or 'goddesses' just appear Those who are seeing 'evil' would you care to explain why please? which parts are you seeing this?

This song is so profound and deep, not just the message behind it but the sound in general, it’s as if a whole new music genre was created with this song. I can’t explain how this song makes me feel but it makes me want to embrace a more heavy, deep and dark side to myself.

This video is powerful imagery: She is powerful. Despite all the ways they men made themselves to seem over her she knows her presence and ownership of herself and her body is the power.
